It was a fine day today as I decided I would make a walk after lunch. My direction is on the other side of where I would usually walk and that is to the direction of Essling, a part of the 22nd District near our area. This is the place where I posted about the alley of the cherry trees with white blossoms.
From our flat, it took me more or less 1.6Km/1 mile one way. It was actually hot at about 30°C(86°F) but I had a small towel to combat the heat.
Passing by the fields along the way, the heat was bearable until I was halfway down the road. Then, I began sweating as my pace went faster. Glad I was wearing a hat, but I forgot to bring the bottle of water I already prepared.
It was very quiet since not many people were around because it was still lunchtime. There were bikers passing this bridge.
On the right of the wooden bridge, I saw this lovely pond-like water...it is actually a runing water that goes in the direction of Slovakia some 30 Km farther.
The water had been plenty as it rained the weekend before and oh boy, it is very clear! It's so pure and clean that probably one can drink it.
On the other side of the bridge, the body of water is wide and at one point, some locals were having some fun with their canoes.
The forest is full of tall trees and you can hear the tweeting of the birds. The city admins of the National Park leave the forest as it is. When trees are sick, they cut them and leave the trunks as they are for as long as they are not endangering anyone. Other trunks are used as a hamper to stop the flow of water.
I walked till the end of the trees which is a continuous road for the bikers until I reached the open field.
When I reached the open field, I turned back to where I came from towards the direction of the bridge.
I sat for a while to rest and see the flowing water. Walked to reach the road gasping because of the heat.
And then upon reaching the track, I slowly went back home. It was a long winding road to be able to thread more than 3 Km to and from the National Park, but it was worth it. It was indeed a good walk aiming for a good digestion.
I am thankful to @tattoodjay for initiating this wonderful challenge as it is always good for our health and at the same time we are enjoying nature at its best.
