It’s Saturday morning again and the early birds (my sons) are already very active. It would be a bit better if I somehow manage to be an early bird too. I guess I am, but I’m more specifically early bird on duty. 😁

Happily, I have a very interesting and exclusive coffee to enjoy now and it is this beautiful one.

The coffee is from El Salvador and it under the “Competition coffee” label of the Dabov specialty coffees. Most of the coffees delivered by this company are either Red label for more fruity tastes or brown label for more traditional chocolate like ones. There are rarely Exclusive coffees under the black label, or Competition - gold label coffees.

The founder of the company - Jordan Dabov visits various different countries and competitions that are held by around the world, in the biggest and most famous coffee producing countries. And he judges coffees that later on can be auctioned. This coffee - El Salvador #7 COE winner 2021 was one of the top 10 coffees in a competition of this kind and he managed to bring it here in Bulgaria. And now it is ready to be brewed and poured in my cup.

From time to time I pamper myself with a more special coffee and buy a bit more expensive ones than usual. This exact one was about twice the price of the coffees I buy most often. It cost me about $20 for 200 grams and I would say the price is reasonable for the product that I’m buying.

Papaya, orange, sugar cane and chocolate are in the main tastes and other than the typical chocolate notes, the coffee brings some very fresh fruity flavors making the coffee in my cup very complex and unique. Of course, the beans are lightly roasted, which is always preferred with such exclusive coffees. The more baked the coffee - the less aromas are left. I mean less of the pleasant aromas, which are usually replaced with burnt flavor and some high bitterness.

V60 - my preferred brewing method brings along all the nice aromas and quality of this beautiful coffee and the only thing that is left now is to enjoy the early morning. I still have some moments of peacefulness before the kids get hungry and it will be time to make breakfast.

So… have a nice weekend, friends! Stay around your loved ones and enjoy your time. And remember - a nice cup of coffee or tea will make your day start with smile.
See you soon!
