A Cup of Coffee and a Conversation
A cup of coffee is always more delicious when shared with the person you cherish most; that’s why, on this occasion, I took advantage of a visit from a dear friend to enjoy a good conversation over a delicious cup of Venezuelan coffee. It has a subtle flavor yet great character, an indescribable aroma, and a sweetness that perfectly suits my tastes.
Outside, it’s rainy, the temperature is a bit low, and, without us even noticing, the wind is blowing in fits and starts; this makes going out a real challenge, since under these conditions it’s not a good idea to get soaked, especially since we’re in a season when viruses and illnesses seem to be all around us. That’s why spending time together indoors becomes a very appealing option; with the air conditioner on low and some good music playing in the background, it creates the perfect atmosphere to talk about life, discuss future projects, and at the same time look back and reminisce about those little moments from the past.
It’s in the midst of this catharsis that the need to share a good snack arises, and what better way to do so than in true Venezuelan style—by placing a nice cup of coffee on the table, accompanied by chocolate chip cookies, which I must tell you were delicious; their flavor was well-balanced, their texture excellent, and the amount of chocolate just right to create a truly perfect balance. This is how a simple yet powerful combination came about, one that allowed us to feel at ease, enjoying exquisite flavors while spending several hours in conversation without even realizing it.
