Aceitesal y especias a gusto.

Hello friends of the Hive Food community!

I want to share with you my first experience preparing Pasticho/Lasaña.

That's right, I had never made this recipe before, because I always thought it was something too difficult or that it wouldn't turn out well, but on the other hand it is one of my favorite foods.

Today while we were at the supermarket, we passed by one of the refrigerators where they have frozen foods, like pizza, nuggets, french fries and they also have frozen Lasagna, ready just to heat in the oven, I told my husband that I wanted to buy it because it looked very tasty, but then he said "what if we prepare it at home?

And so we took advantage of the fact that we were there in the supermarket and bought the ingredients. Although it is more expensive to prepare it at home, however it is much better because you make it as you like and you are sure that it is made with clean ingredients and without chemical preservatives, so homemade food will always be 100% better.

There I show you the market cart, we already had the basics, the detail of the pasticho or Lasagna pasta that they had was like this, curly and long, I did not find those sheets that I already knew, but we still bought it like this and we thought it could work.

A funny anecdote: to prepare the bolognese sauce my husband definitely had to make it, because everyone at home agrees that his is very tasty and the one I prepare is horrible. Hahaha. Even I admit it myself. It was funny to hear Isabella telling her daddy "no daddy make the ground beef yourself please!!!".

That said, we arrived at the house, and started the process of preparing each component of the Lasagna.

My husband was in charge of preparing the bolognese sauce, I was in charge of making the béchamel sauce and then we assembled the tray together.

Now I leave you over here the ingredients we used for our Sunday lunch.

Ingredients:

½ k of ground beef1 package of 500 grams of Lasagna
300 g of ham300 g mozzarella cheese
50 grams of grated Parmesan cheese100 g butter or margarine
1 cup of liquid milkTomato paste
1 head of garlic1 white onion
1 red onion1 bell pepper
Oilsalt and spices to taste
3 tablespoons of wheat flour-

For the Bolognese sauce, my husband was in charge of chopping the seasonings, garlic, onion and paprika. He made the sofrito, then added the ground beef, frying it together with the seasonings, seasoning it with salt, black pepper, oregano and cumin. Then we add the tomato paste. Let it cook until the sauce is thick. An interesting fact is that the red onion gives enough flavor that there is no need to add more seasoning, that's the great secret of the bolognese sauce that my husband makes 💟

For the béchamel sauce, fry two cloves of garlic and a small piece of white onion with three tablespoons of butter, then add three tablespoons of wheat flour and then a cup of liquid cliche, then a little more milk to correct the thickness of the sauce, cook over low heat and it was ready.

I cooked the Lasagna pasta in boiling water for 3 minutes so that it would be half cooked when it went into the oven and it would be done faster and also just in case, because this pasta did not say "straight to the oven" like the ones I knew that come in sheets.

Having all the ingredients ready, we assembled the pasticho layer by layer.

First, I greased the refractory mold (that my neighbor lent me) with butter. Then I put bechamel sauce, followed by pasta, bolognese sauce, ham and finally cheese, I repeated this sequence until the whole mold was filled and then I put a layer of grated parmesan cheese on top.

We baked it for 25 minutes at high temperature, my oven is failing and turns off so in the end it did not gratinate the top of the Lasagna but it was ready, we let it rest for a few minutes and then eat!

Being honest, it's not the prettiest pasticho in the world, in fact my husband said excitedly "it doesn't have the best presentation but in taste it's spectacular 👌!". All the ingredients in their right measure, without denying anything and the taste is very rich, it makes up for the appearance, so I can say that it was a success this first time making pasticho.

I hope you like my experience, I have really learned to lose my fear of certain recipes that I find difficult, because although I like to cook (and eat), I am very basic in savory preparations, but from time to time you have to take the risk to do something different and more when we have the possibility to buy the ingredients.

That was all for now, so was our delicious Sunday lunch, and I loved sharing it with you.

Happy week to all!!!
