Good person... Would you describe yourself as a good person and, if so, would you explain why with examples and how being this way has been positive or detrimental to you?
For me, being a good person is when we are able to show and give the best to others. It is a being able to give that helping hand to anyone without receiving anything in return. It is a person who respects other human beings in their totality, even if they do not share ideas or ideologies. She also applies empathy instead of judging the person.
We know that we are born without knowing if we are good people, but family values and what you see in your environment, will guide you to see which path to choose. That of being a good person or not.
In my case and under the definition that I have of being a good person. I consider that I am. One of the things I have always liked is to help those in need. That is very gratifying for me. I remember when we were in the pandemic, I was able to help my family and friends, because the medicines were very expensive. I can tell you that I was able to do this, thanks to what I lived, I received good rewards and I helped whoever I could.
I like to be an empathetic person, I like to listen and whenever I can I am there for when my friends need me.
Being a good person does not mean that I will always say yes, or that I must always please the other person, but simply by respecting, being empathetic and helping others, we can say that you are a good person.
On the other hand, there are people who believe that you will always say yes, and when you decide to say no; then you are no longer a good person. It has happened to me that I have had to say no, and they act like I told them. They label you as bad. But well, I know what my heart holds and that is why I consider myself a good person, I lend support when I am needed if it is within my reach.
