The name of Brouwerij The Musketeers is a direct nod to Alexandre Dumas’s immortal novel. The brewery was founded in 1999 by four engineers: Kristof De Roo, Rikkert Maertens, Stefaan Soetemans, and Sven Suys. Brewing was their domestic hobby, and their very first batches were crafted... in Kristof’s mother’s kitchen. Four friends, one passion, and a shared dream of making their own brew.
Their debut beer was a pale lager they intended to call Musketier. However, it turned out the name was already trademarked, and thus Troubadour Blond was born. Two years later, its dark sibling, Troubadour Obscura, joined the lineup, followed in 2010 by a Belgian Triple IPA, Troubadour Magma. Today, only two of the original four remain at the helm of this independent brewery: Stefaan and Kristof. Over the years, they have earned a reputation as pioneers, developing unique and unconventional interpretations of traditional Belgian styles.
In 2016, The Musketeers purchased an old brickworks in Sint-Gillis-Waas, converting it into a modern, eco-friendly brewery. They also incorporated an on-site taproom cafe. "It’s a list of all the beers every brewer has always wanted to try and brew." This wild collection also features Jump out of a Plane (Milkshake IPA), Cross the Desert (Belgian Bitter Blond), Ride a Bull (Ruby Red Ale), and Kiss My Neighbour's Wife (Juicy IPA).

Nazwa browaru Brouwerij The Musketeers to bezpośredni ukłon w stronę nieśmiertelnej powieści Aleksandra Dumasa. Climb the Mont Ventoux to bardzo przyzwoity, przemyślany lager z intrygującym twistem w postaci brytyjskiego słodu, który robi robotę i daje nieoczekiwaną głębię. Szczerze? Niekoniecznie mam ochotę do niego wracać przy domowym relaksie. Może po kilkugodzinnym, palącym uda podjeździe pod „Olbrzyma Prowansji” smakowałby zupełnie inaczej. Jeśli jednak miałbym wybrać idealną nagrodę, która czekałaby na mnie na samym szczycie Mont Ventoux, to raczej nie byłoby to to piwo.
