Our family's all time favorite dish specially during our get together almost every week is pinakbet. 鉂わ笍 I look forward to this because all they serve in our office cafeteria is all meat.
Alright, so going back, pinakbet is made from mixed vegetables steamed in fish sauce.
So here are the ingredients:
Here we go!
In a pan, fry the boiled pork to brown. Set aside and we'll use it for later.
In the same pan, stir-fry the garlic, onions, ginger and tomatoes. (Don't let em burn alright?)
Add fish sauce, you can buy one in wet n' dry market near you.
Add the pork and the stir-fried garlic, onion, ginger and tomatoes.
Bring back to a boil, then add the ampalaya, eggplant and okra. (You'll see if the vegetables are already cooked)
Cover the pan and cook over high heat, then turn down the heat to prevent scorching.
Cook until the vegetables are done. Don鈥檛 overcook because the vegetables will lose their bright colors and maybe the protein it can give you.
** you can also add squash or string beans if you like. Whatever suits you! 馃槈
If you don鈥檛 have bagoong on hand, just use salt.
So there, as for us, we added fried pork chop with cold water on the side and a little chit chat. (Alright, too much chit chat!) hahahaha.
Just like what I said before, eating with your family is the best!
Ciao! 馃拫
