So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun that we did not want it to end. We are currently on the first topic for this week, which is “ADDICTION”.
But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last topic, which was “DESIGNER BABIES”.
This topic was geared toward each member of the community, telling us their thoughts on people having the ability to decide what their babies looked like and the talents that each baby could be born with.
We got to see that there could be ethical sides to this. Once people start to pick and choose the kind of babies they want, it could affect those who won’t be able to make those decisions because such things won’t be open to everyone. This was an enlightening topic, indeed.
For this topic, we went through every entry post, and that is every post with the #hl-exclusive & #hl-w228e3 tag. And with the number of wonderful posts out there, it was quite difficult to make a selection. But eventually, we did just that. And so, the posts that will be featured not just for their exceptional content, but also for their level of engagement with other authors, will be listed below.
DESIGNER BABIES: A FUTURE I HOPE NEVER COMES by 
For this author, he thinks that if humans get the power of designing babies, they will think of themselves as a supreme creator. The author thinks that imperfections of a human are not the limitations; rather, it is the beauty of mankind. Parents may have the opportunity to shape their child's skin color, talents, and career from the very beginning, but these are not greater blessings than our Creator's creation. Nursing a child and letting them grow up on their own qualities which they have got by birth is a matter of pride for mankind. He suggested not allowing our children to be ordered products from a catalog.
DESIGNER BABIES: A MIRACLE OF SCIENCE OR A MORAL MISTAKE? by 
*For this author, he thanks technology as it helps the human to become parents who are unable to be. But he doesn’t support babies more than our Creator. It is a crazy thing. He thinks that children will hate their parents in the future as they tampered with their natural appearance. No one is perfect, and it is impossible for us to be perfect. So the diversity of God's creation is the ultimate beauty and blessing for us.
THE IRONY OF A PERFECT CHILD by 
This author thinks that modifying a baby genetically may be normal to one person, but it may be strange to others, as it is a matter of individual perspective. He shared his friend's experience where she donated some eggs to make some money. The unique genotype donors received more payment. Everyone wants to have an amazing child, so if anyone desires to have a unique baby he/she can try it, and the author heard about such kinds of people. But the author insisted on nurturing a baby for a good future because only genetic change can’t ensure it without nurturing.
