Are we ready to bear the consequences?

We are living in the modern world, and we have advanced technologies and we are using the technologies to make our life easier and more comfortable. Technologies is not less than magic and it can help us to get the desired results that we want which may be difficult in traditional way. Technology at the present time is so powerful that it can make many things possible that seemed impossible in the past. Changing genetic material is something that applied for various purposes and there were many effective results of it.

In the past there were some vegetables that could be found in a specific season but by changing the genetic materials we can get them now all season. It’s the same for disease resisting vegetables. There were many histories of facing loss in producing for a disease but just by changing a gene of the species, it became resisting against the disease. Those are the results we wanted, and we got the result that was satisfactory. What if it’s applied for the human baby? Just by changing the genes of the baby we can get all the desired characteristics from the baby? Would it be a good thing?

I am quite sure some people will choose to say that it will be good, and, in that case, we can get ideal babies or perfect babies. By in my opinion, it’s a ridiculous question to ask. What is the benefit of having perfect babies in our life? When it comes to perfect babies, the uncertainty of traits will reduce and almost everyone will know how the baby will behave and it’s not fun actually. If any parents need perfect babies, how it can be different from owning a robot. I believe that those parents need to buy a robot rather than having trouble giving birth to the child. In fact, the robot can eliminate the certain risk of uncertainty also.

I know that we have power and we can use it to make life better, but it doesn’t mean we should try to do something that can fully change the life of a person. What is perfection? It’s not possible. Suppose there is an idea baby and after growing up the baby/person may feel his/her life is just scripted or designed by others. It’s something we hate most of the time. We don’t love to be toyed with the thoughts of our parents. Their ideal type is not necessarily the ideal type of the baby feels the ideal. It’ s like I don’t think ideal type of my parents are ideal for me. It’s different. I think parents should be killed or punished if the child feel his type is not ideal. Someone needs to pay for the action and that should be ideal in that case.

I know we are advanced but going against nature is not an easy thing to do. We must pay a heavy price for it. It’s because we are still helpless against natural law. If we were so powerful we could stop people from dying at least. The ignorant people only feel they defeated nature. It’s ridiculous. If it was the truth, we would not face the pandemic period in recent years. So, I don’t support the idea of modified baby. There are some genetical reasons why it’s not ideal but I am not going to discuss it here because most of the people won’t understand it.
