Kids are considered a blessing from God. I don’t have my own kids yet but I’ve seen how childbirth and parenthood has changed people in all aspects of their life. Having a child comes with some level of responsibility and care and honestly, most of us want kids but only few of us are actually ready when we have them. But then again, is there ever a time to be ready since life isn’t an open book.
God gives us what he knows is best for us, that’s one thing I know. Children are all beautiful in their own way. We may want fair kids but God will give us dark skinned kids. Does that mean they’re less of human? Not at all. I think we as humans have to be crazy to some extent to want to modify our kids. I means we’ve done crazy things and still are doing crazy things. But trying to make our kids designer kids is something that will never make sense to me.
It’s enough having to be blessed with children, but trying to modify the child God has given you to fit what you want is peak level shocking. God might as well just give us clay and the breath of life to design our so called designer babies. We don’t always get what we what, but what we can do is to see the beauty in what we have and have been given. No one is perfect, and no matter how hard we try, we can never be perfect. If our parents wanted us to look like Barbie dolls, I bet we wouldn’t be looking all natural like we are today.
And honestly, trying to modify your kids to suit why you want might even lead to your children hating you in future because you tampered with their appearance and natural nature. I get that we as humans want to use our intelligence to manipulate everything around us, but there’s an extent to which this madness should stop. With time, I bet we would be able to do things like this with little to no hassle. But hey, let’s leave things that we can’t control to the Almighty who gives and takes and appreciate what has been given to us as it is. I will never think of modifying my children like they’re some channel or Dior bags I bought on a trip to France. They’re also human and they deserve the respect they’re due.
