But today, I'll share the recipe for tangy tomato chutney. Although tomatoes are commonly used for tempering in vegetables, their chutney has a unique flavor. You can prepare this chutney in just 30 minutes.
Ingredients for making Tomato Chutney: Tomatoes, mustard seeds, whole red chili, bay leaf, and one cup of sugar can be mixed to prepare it. You can enjoy this chutney with pakoras and parathas.
Firstly, thoroughly clean the tomatoes, then cut them into pieces. Place them in a pot and wait until it whistles.
Once it whistles, open it to check if the peels have separated. If they have, remove the peels in a separate container.
Now, heat a pan, add 2 tablespoons of oil, and then add all the tempering ingredients such as cumin, black cumin, fennel seeds, carom seeds, fenugreek seeds, red chili, bay leaf. Roast them until they turn brown. Add a bit of turmeric and red chili powder for a spicy flavor. Cook for 5 minutes.
Check for a pleasant aroma and ensure it has thickened. Once done, turn off the heat. Your delicious tomato chutney is ready to be enjoyed with any dish, like potato paratha.
