It seems that this of continuing to live with an apparent smile or a “nothing is wrong” even if we are broken inside, is more common than we think and is part of a large number of women and men, nowadays.
Most of us have been carrying very heavy burdens or roles since childhood, but we assume them without asking because of our beliefs or culture; we become experts in taking care of others: siblings, parents, husband, wife, children, friends and everyone who needs us, we also work and we are emotional leaders in our home and we cannot stagger because everything is destabilized and while internally we are facing “battles” our smile is the apparent sign that we are well and that we must continue.
I have a breastplate that hides the wounds of my soul... Has it happened to you? It is like a weight that does not allow us to stop to look inward, much less to heal the wound of abandonment, loss, guilt, betrayal, exclusion and so many others... that are impossible to name. In my experience, and I tell them that I always go to therapy, because we program ourselves to continue repressing what hurts us for many reasons: fear, we don't know how to ask for help or we think that we don't have the time or right to do it.
When our soul is wounded, broken and we continue without stopping there comes a time when we feel tired, overwhelmed, sad and the worst with hopelessness and lack of illusion, living in automatic without really enjoying what we have and do.
Stop, and... looking inward, giving ourselves permission, asking for help does not make us weak or selfish, we must take care of ourselves as we do with others, it is worth crying, manifesting fatigue, setting limits and letting others assume responsibilities that are not only ours, carrying the burdens among several and thus relieving the weight we are carrying.
I want you to know that you are not alone, that I know what it's like to live with those cracks in the heart, that there are moments to take care of ourselves and embrace each other in the midst of loneliness, to take actions to restore and heal each of those wounds.
It's one day at a time, when we can, we have to write about those things, have to think to structure a phrase or a sentence that gives it a name or describes those emotions or feelings that make our mind focus on explaining it and not stay pending without explanation and come back every time to disturb. Being able to explain it to yourself in writing is more emotionally productive speaking than meditating on it...I don't know about you, but I've already made all the possible mistakes. And how about you guys?
Happy Day! ... Janitze. 🌹
