I approached Uncle to discuss the architectural plans before initiating the construction of the house alongside Charles. As Uncle watched from the sidelines, John and Charles spent multiple days laying bricks, lifting heavy picket logs, and hammering nails. The grueling labor eventually led to a structural mishap during framing.
I left Charles resting by the bonfire and walked over toward Uncle, who was intently studying a set of blueprints for the new house. John initiated the conversation with a sarcastic remark, questioning Uncle whether those complex architectural plans actually made any logical sense to him.
Uncle deflected the sarcasm by offering to handle all of the reading and strategic planning, suggesting that John and Charles should focus strictly on the physical building process. He immediately began issuing commands regarding the layout, prompting Charles to step forward and state that they needed to stop talking and officially begin the labor.
The construction phase commenced smoothly as the team focused on establishing a solid foundation for the structure. I watched the progress unfold as they carefully laid rows of heavy bricks to secure the base of the entire house frame.
The tasks shifted to heavier manual labor as I was required to lift massive picket logs in tandem with Charles. After aligning the heavy timber in the correct direction, I had to manually hammer the iron nails to secure the joints.
We repeated the exhausting cycle of carrying lumber and hammering nails into the framework over a prolonged period. Meanwhile, Uncle maintained his relaxed posture, simply sitting around the perimeter and watching us complete all of the heavy chores without offering any physical assistance.
The afternoon light faded into darkness, revealing that the main exterior walls had been successfully raised while Uncle continued to relax by the warmth of the crackling bonfire. A brand-new day dawned immediately after, signaling the passage of time.
As the montage continued, it became evident that several days had passed rather than a single afternoon, highlighted by John growing a significantly larger beard and longer hair. Uncle walked over to them to offer them cups of hot coffee to help keep their energy up.
Night fell upon the ranch once again, showcasing the substantial progress made on the home. The team had successfully finished installing the entire wooden floor alongside some outer support stands, and they had completed building the interior stone furnace as well.
Another day arrived as we shifted our focus toward adjusting the main roof frame of the house, with John working entirely shirtless under the sun. Unfortunately, I became distracted during the quick-time event and botched the button prompts, causing the heavy timber frame to slip from our grip and crash directly back down onto the floor.

Here I'm finishing the post for today, and I'll talk about more special RDR 2 gaming moments in Gaming Photography.
