I navigated Akito through severe mountain winds into a cave containing a massive door. Joining forces with KK, I forced the entrance open to discover Hannya conducting a ritual over Mari. Surrounded by millions of floating spirits and a wave of familiar demons, I watched as the underworld gate opened beneath them.
Navigating through the howling gales, I pushed Akito across the desolate mountain peak, surrounded by a heavy wind that blew so violently he was completely unable to break into a run.
Despite the harsh climate, Akito reassured KK that he was fine, declaring that he was done running and determined to find and protect his sister, Mari.
Following the narrow path upward toward the highest peak, I spotted the mouth of a dark cavern cut directly into the rock face ahead.
Entering the cave to escape the storm, I walked along the stone passage until I came across a massive, uniquely designed door that looked far different from any portal I had encountered across Tokyo.
Approaching the threshold, a cinematic sequence triggered as Akito stepped toward the entrance, realizing we had finally arrived at our destination. KK confirmed the situation, stating that Hannya was waiting on the other side alongside Mari.
Akito leaned his weight against the heavy wooden door, attempting to force it open on his own, but the structure was far too massive to budge.
Joining his strength with Akito's, KK helped push against the heavy frame, and through their combined power, they managed to crack the entrance open, revealing a vast chamber containing a giant Torii gate.
Hovering in the air around the gate were countless glowing spirits, hundreds of thousands, if not millions or billions of souls swirling together in a breathtaking, overwhelming display that left Akito visible stunned.
Inside the chamber, I saw Hannya actively performing a dark ritual over Mari's motionless body. Observing our arrival, Hannya mocked our interference, questioning how anyone could appreciate the wonders of the journey awaiting their loved ones.
When Akito shouted that he had only come to talk to his sister, Hannya cold-heartedly replied that she no longer had a voice to speak with before channeling intense, electrocuting bursts of energy directly into Mari.
Charging forward to stop the ritual, Akito was immediately cut off as a massive horde of demons materialized out of the shadows, representing every distinct type of enemy I had fought throughout my journey across the city.
While Akito was forced to dodge and block through the surging wave of hostiles, Hannya continued using Mari as a catalyst to forcibly draw the mass of flying spirits into her frame.
Suddenly, the entire chamber began to shake violent, cracking the floor beneath their feet and taking even Hannya by surprise.
A swirling black vortex ripped open across the ground level, prompting Hannya to announce that the gate to the underworld had officially opened for the final step of his plan.
