Caracas is an incredible city, which gives us beautiful urban landscapes, in which modernity is mixed with the classic, creating a unique environment, pleasant and full of beautiful architectural contracts that allow us to travel through time and enjoy the richness of a society that is in constant change and always with a view to development. The center of the city gives us one of the most important pedestrian networks that can be found within the city, these are boulevards, walkways and squares that are connected to each other to shape a historic district that seeks to protect the silhouettes of the past, in order to present to future generations a clearer picture of our colonial roots.

Caracas es una ciudad increíble, la cual nos regala bellos paisajes urbanos, en los cuales la modernidad se mezcla con lo clásico, generando un entorno único, agradable y lleno de lindos contratos arquitectónicos que nos permiten viajar a través del tiempo y disfrutar de la riqueza de una sociedad que se encuentra en un constante cambio y siempre con miras al desarrollo. El centro de la ciudad nos regala una de las más importantes redes peatonales que se puedan encontrar dentro de la ciudad, se trata de bulevares, caminerías y plazas que se conectan entre sí para darle forma a un casco histórico que busca resguardar las siluetas del pasado, para de esta forma poder presentarle a las generaciones futuras una imagen más clara de nuestras raíces coloniales.
But to tell the truth, the historic center we see today differs greatly from the reality of a Caracas in the Spanish era, rather it is a space where they combine a myriad of styles, which have been added over the years, in order to make the center of the city a highly commercial space, This caused a total transformation of the urban space, but it is important to emphasize that for the common population these contrasts usually go unnoticed, since it is a very friendly environment architectural differences and false historical seem to be in the background.
Pero a decir verdad el casco histórico que observamos hoy en día difiere mucho con la realidad de una Caracas en la época española, más bien se trata de un espacio en donde se combinan un sinfín de estilos, los cuales se han ido adicionando a lo largo de los años, para esta forma poder hacer del centro de la ciudad un espacio altamente comercial, plenamente funcional y estéticamente muy agradable, lo cual ocasionó una transformación total del espacio urbano, pero es importante resaltar que para el común de la población estos contrastes suelen pasar desapercibidos, ya que al tratarse de un entorno muy amigable las diferencias arquitectónicas y los falsos históricos parecen quedar en un segundo plano.
For some historians and architects the reality of downtown Caracas in the XXI Century is a regrettable subject, but for many other members of the population it is an ideal space for the enjoyment of the city, in short this is a subject of which we could develop long and deep debates, but on this occasion it is not my goal to take sides in a discussion that would cover many aspects of society, on the contrary with my images I only seek to show the characteristic elements of a city which I love deeply.
Para algunos historiadores y arquitectos la realidad del centro de Caracas en pleno Siglo XXI es un tema lamentable, pero para muchos otros miembros de la población se trata de un espacio ideal para el disfrute de la ciudad, en fin esto es un tema del cual podríamos desarrollar largos y profundos debates, pero en esta ocasión no es mi objetivo tomar partido en una discusión que abarcaría muchísimos aspectos de la sociedad, por el contrario con mis imágenes solo busco mostrar los elementos característicos de una ciudad a la cual amo profundamente.
Black and white is an extraordinary tool to show images that transmit a great amount of feelings and emotions, monochrome gives us the possibility to focus on the details, sometimes we can also capture an image of this century and thanks to this technique our mind flies and imagines how those locations would be in previous times. Walking through downtown, enjoying its stores, its streets full of people and living in the flesh the great energy that moves those blocks is a truly unforgettable experience, so I enjoy every walk I take in this area and do not hesitate to take this opportunity to generate images that I find attractive and interesting at the same time, is thus how today I present a series of images where the daily life of an area that seems to have a life of its own is shown.
El blanco y negro es una herramienta extraordinaria para mostrar imágenes que nos transmitan una gran cantidad de sentimientos y emociones, la monocromía nos regala la posibilidad de poder fijarnos en los detalles, a veces también podemos capturar una imagen de este siglo y gracias a esa técnica nuestra mente vuela y se imagina cómo serían esas locaciones en épocas anteriores. Recorrer el centro de la ciudad, disfrutar de sus tiendas, sus calles llenas de gente y vivir en carne propia la gran energía que mueve esas cuadras es una experiencia verdaderamente inolvidable, por ello disfruto de cada paseo que realizo en esta zona y no dudo en aprovechar esta oportunidad para generar imágenes que me resulten atractivas y al mismo tiempo interesantes, es de esta forma como hoy les presento una serie de imágenes en donde se muestra la cotidianidad de una zona que pareciera tener vida propia.
