Today I have the pleasure of inviting you to discover and walk the streets of the province of Ciego de Ávila, in a Halloween atmosphere, showing its urban styles, homes, streets, horror characters, and cafes decorated for the occasion. I will also enjoy a good Cappuccino with the Hive logo, courtesy of friends at the establishment.

Hoy tengo el placer de invitarlos a conocer y caminar las calles de la provincia de Ciego de Ávila, en un ambiente de Halloween, mostrando sus estilos urbanísticos, hogares, calles, personajes de terror y cafeterías decoradas para la fecha. También disfrutaré de un buen Cappuccino con el logo de hive, por amigos del establecimiento.

Last Saturday, October 31, the Halloween festival was held in my city of Ciego de Ávila, an annual event that takes place on the eve of All Saints' Day.
Despite the low spirits of the people, some establishments, businesses, homes, and cafes were decorated to commemorate the date or the commercial costume party in nightclubs. The experience of walking the streets was not the most well-received, but I wanted to know if there were still people with that enthusiasm for the Day of the Dead.
El pasado sábado 31 de octubre se celebró en mi ciudad avileña el festival de Halloween, un evento anual que se efectúa en víspera del Día de Todos los Santos.
A pesar del poco ánimo del personal, se decoraron algunos establecimientos, negocios, hogares y cafeterías para conmemorar la fecha o la comercial fiesta de disfraces en discotecas nocturnas. La experiencia de recorrer las calles no fue la más aceptada, pero quería saber si aún había personas con ese entusiasmo del Día de Muertos.
The first decorations were put up by the "Pollo Loco" sales outlet and the "Molino Rojo" restaurant, with skeleton figures, the Grim Reaper, and danger zone signs. Finding dolls or ghostly decorations was super difficult for me, because the festive spirit for this date was very poor.
The sad thing is that the desire has been lost for everything in Cuba: it is a destroyed country, without a future and without the will to move forward.
Las primeras decoraciones estuvieron a cargo del punto de venta "Pollo Loco" y el restaurante "Molino Rojo", con figuras de esqueletos, la muerte y señales de zona de peligro. Para encontrar muñecos o adornos fantasmagóricos me era súper difícil, porque era muy pobre el espíritu festivo de esta fecha.
Lo triste es que las ganas se han perdido de todo en Cuba: es un país destruido, sin futuro y sin ganas de avanzar.
Between steps and neighborhoods, many neighbors gave their opinions to help me with directions to places with light Halloween decorations. But I did have to walk about 10 km through streets to look for horror characters hanging in homes or public centers.
This event is not only experienced in big cities or tourist destinations: there is also a little piece of it on our avenues, in the cafes, and in the small places of the town.
Entre pasos y barrios, muchos vecinos daban sus opiniones para ayudarme con direcciones hacia espacios con leves decoraciones de Halloween. Pero sí tuve que caminar cerca de 10 km entre calles para buscar personajes de terror colgados en hogares o centros públicos.
Este evento no solamente se vive en las grandes ciudades o en los destinos turísticos: también se encuentra un pedacito en nuestras avenidas, en las cafeterías y en los pequeños lugares del pueblo.
This was the bar-cafe I liked the most because of its decoration. It is called "Tía Fita" and is highly recommended for the exquisiteness of its food, its drinks, and the good service of the staff.
Its horror doll at the entrance was impressive, with sharp teeth and evil phrases. In addition, there were smaller figures hanging, creating a fun and mysterious atmosphere in the bar.
Este fue el bar-cafetería que más me gustó por su decoración. Se llama "Tía Fita" y es muy recomendable por la exquisitez de sus alimentos, sus tragos y la buena atención del personal de trabajo.
Su muñeco de terror en la entrada era impresionante, con dientes afilados y frases maléficas. Además, contenían figuras más diminutas colgadas, creando una atmósfera divertida y misteriosa en el bar.
Then I continued along the route, heading to other simple businesses, but with the intention of celebrating the date, which is acceptable.
I enjoyed that contrast between the tranquility of the streets and the surprises that appeared when entering certain establishments. It was a different way of experiencing Halloween: without the need for big parties, simply walking, observing, photographing, and enjoying what our own city had to offer.
Luego seguí la trayectoria, dirigiéndome a otros negocios sencillos, pero con el intento de celebrar la fecha, lo que es aceptable.
Disfrute ese contraste entre la tranquilidad de las calles y las sorpresas que aparecían al entrar en determinados establecimientos. Era una manera diferente de vivir Halloween: sin necesidad de grandes fiestas, simplemente caminando, observando, fotografiando y disfrutando de lo que nuestra propia ciudad tenía para ofrecer.
I arrived at my favorite cafe, where the best cappuccinos in the city of Ciego de Ávila are made. Whatever you want to add to the coffee for some business marketing or, simply, like me, having it decorated with the Hive logo for the community, is perfect.
Among wooden tables, a cozy place, and simple decoration, it is the perfect atmosphere to sit down and enjoy a cappuccino. This small space has a particular charm, personality, and cleanliness.
Llegué a mi cafetería preferida, donde se hacen los mejores cappuccinos de la ciudad Avileña. Lo que desees ponerles al café para algún marketing de negocio o, simplemente, como yo, que me lo decoraran con el logo de Hive para la comunidad, es perfecto.
Entre mesas de madera, un lugar acogedor y una decoración sencilla, es el ambiente perfecto para sentarme y disfrutar de un cappuccino. Este pequeño espacio tiene un encanto particular, personalidad y limpieza.
The menu also featured different options: coffees, smoothies, cold drinks, burgers, waffles, creams, and other options to share.
But I was happy with those minutes of rest, and then continued walking through the streets of my city.
En el menú también aparecían diferentes propuestas: cafés, batidos, bebidas frías, hamburguesas, waffles, cremas y otras opciones para compartir.
Pero yo feliz con esos minutos de descanso, para luego continuar caminando por las calles de mi ciudad.
To conclude, this Halloween walk was a simple experience, full of interesting moments, but with the true protagonist of Ciego de Ávila: my city, its streets, its cafes, homes, and that creativity that shows there is always something new to discover.
This festival was poor this year, but the charm, the surprising decorations, and several images will make it memorable.
Para concluir, este paseo por Halloween fue una experiencia sencilla, llena de momentos interesantes, pero con el verdadero protagonista de Ciego de Ávila: mi ciudad, sus calles, sus cafeterías, hogares y esa creatividad que demuestra que siempre hay algo nuevo por descubrir.
Este festival estuvo pobre este año, pero el encanto, las decoraciones sorprendentes y varias imágenes lo harán recordar.
