I am participating #wednesdaywalk for the very first time!

It is my 8th wedding anniversary with the husband so we entrusted the 2 boys with my mum-in-law and went out for a simple dinner together.

It has been very very very long since we went for a date especially when the country was in lockdown for months so the last we went was probably our anniversary last year? Hahahahaah yes it was thaaat long, I kid you not.

We managed to spend about 4 hours together without the boys to do some things that we have been wanting to do:

  1. Go to a local car dealer to check out on a car we are considering and perhaps do a test drive too
  2. Buy socks for the husband from a local departmental store
  3. Have dinner without having to consider what the boys eat and do not eat
  4. Buy another pencil case for my son

Well, we managed to do ALL of the above except for the test drive because sadly, the test drive unit went for a service! But I forgot to take photos of most places we went except for some in the mall we went for dinner.

This mall is called Sunway Velocity mall. Both of us decided to have Japanese Ramen at this restaurant Ippudo. I forgot I have tried it before with a friend and I only remember it when I was browsing their menu again. No wonder I felt everything on the menu looked so familiar hahah!

Both of us ordered the exact same ramen as our mains, which was the Shiromaru Special, their original tonkotsu broth with some really thin noodles served with pork belly and pork loin which melts in the mouth. The husband said that the other restaurant we went before serves better broth and noodles but this restaurant's pork is really good.

Besides that, he also ordered another 2 side dishes that were both very interesting. First was this absolute favorite of ours, Dashimaki Egg Rolls. It is omelette topped with seared fish roe with mayo. I was famished and this was served first. Really love it and will definitely order this everytime we visit Ippudo.

Next was this Crispy Mochi. It is sticky yet a bit sweet and covered with some toasted sesame seeds. I enjoyed it much too! It was a bit hot when it was served and that was the best time to eat it.

After dinner, we went to run some errands like visiting the departmental store for socks and also the bookstore for the pencil case. As we were walking in the huge mall, we realized some lovely Christmas decorations are up. Before the pandemic, one of my favorite things to do is mall-hopping to look at different Christmas decorations in different malls.

This year they even put up station games for patrons to participate. But we didn't hahah.

After gettings the items we wanted to get, we went to this milk tea shop, Koi. Since I tried this brand before, I only drink milk tea from this shop and not really from the others.

I especially like the milk tea from this shop and I went for my usual which is their signature milk tea with golden pearls.

Our final stop was the supermarket. Hahahah after being married for 8 years and with 2 boys, the supermarket has become one of our favorite places to go.

The husband noticed a contest with Thermomix as the grand prize if we buy 2 packets of cheese. Coincidentally, the cheese slices at home has run out.

Before paying, I spotted another contest that if we spend RM10 for a digestive biscuit brand, there is a possibility to win a Thermomix too! Hahahaha so we tried that too as my youngest loves digestive biscuits.

Twas a good 4 hours spent with the husband to remember how we started and also have conversations without the children's constant interruptions hahahah.

Look at how many steps I managed to clock for the day walking in a mall, despite the heavy rain outside!

So Happy 8th Wedding Anniversary to myself and the husband. Many more years to come and celebrate! It is a blessing to do life together with this man.
