Aside from the fact that food is essential for our development and growth as it is able to give us energy and nutrients. For me, it is also unifying factor. It allows people from all age and races to come together as one. It binds people together.
A shared meal can also lead to a great friendship. Sponsors and servers during feeding programs come together and may be able to ignite long-lasting friendships. As someone who served communities as missionary, I could basically atest to this.
A meal will always be the tastiest once shared with the people you love and care. I usually spend most of my time at home but I also spend some of my days going out just to eat with my friends and relatives. I find it essential not just for my social life to boost, but to learn more from the people I shared meals with.
Yesterday, Auntie Jean, Athena and I went downtown to eat lunch. Athena wanted to go to Meow Cafe near Divisoria but I find it unreasonably expensive. You need to pay 100Php (2USD) for twenty minutes with the cats. That does not include the meal you are going to order.
I told Athena that instead at Meow Café, it would be better if we are to have our lunch at Bigby's. The food is great and with reasonable prices. She felt a little sad but agreed to my offer.

It was over twenty minutes when our meals were served. We were all so excited because we have not taken our lunch. Meanwhile, Athena and Auntie Jean woke up so early to join the Nine mornings, meaning they had an early breakfast.
We ordered French Toast for our desserts with a twist. Athena was so amazed on how big, tasty, and sweet it is. It is also fluffy and it is not dry. She had a lot, meanwhile I only ate a piece because I had enough sugar for this week. Funny though, dessert was served first. We also both had strawberry shakes. It was creamy and sweet.
For my main course, I had Spicy Hungary Sausage with Java Rice. Athena had the same food too but with plain rice instead of java rice. She almost cried in anticipation but coughed when she accidentally ate pepper. I could not help but laugh from her reaction. The sausage also looks like... you know.
Auntie Jean had tasty ribs. She is a good cook but I was shocked at her reaction that she is not capable of making something like what she was eating. She said, the chef boiled the ribs and then grilled it. She also said she wanted to achieve the Resto's flavor for this certain meal.

After lunch, we decided to roam around the mall. We went to the department store and checked on some items. I bought some lipticks for myself and Auntie Jean. I also bought other make up items and lip gloss for Athena because she liked the container.
It was already five in the afternoon and we were all tired from walking for hours. Auntie Jean bought coffee for herself while Athena and I had this yoghurt ice cream. It has almonds, strawberries, and mangoes for topings. It was superb.
It was almost seven in the evening and they both need to go home already because Athena's mom was looking for her already.
It was such an amazing day althought I spent almost five thousand pesos. Haha! But oh well, I had fun from our small talks. 'Til next time Auntie Jean and Athena!
