Hungry Stomachs, Happy Hearts: Catching Up with friends Over Good Food
It’s been quite a long time since I last went home to the province, so I decided to visit before starting my new job. I had just resigned from my previous company, and before returning to Metro Manila, I wanted to spend some quality time with my old friends.
After our weekend meeting, we decided to have lunch together at Sawadee Garden and Refreshments, one of the famous restaurants in our town.
Sawadee is a Thai restaurant that serves authentic Thai dishes, along with fusion food like seafood and chicken platters. It was a perfect place for us to enjoy good food and catch up with one another.
A Look Inside the Restaurant
The restaurant has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, making it a nice place to enjoy a meal with family and friends. It’s always lovely to find a spot where you can relax, eat, and have a good time.
We couldn’t resist this cute little photo booth! With its pink and white balloons, lovely flowers, and adorable teddy bear, it was the perfect spot for some sweet photos. We may be grown-ups, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy cute things!
While waiting for our orders, we kept talking about random things, laughing, and taking silly photos. You know you’re with your old friends when even the most random moments become fun memories!
We ordered a platter to share, along with other dishes. Unfortunately, I only managed to take a photo of the food in front of me instead of the entire spread. I guess I was more focused on eating than documenting our lunch!
The restaurant prepares the food after you order, so we had to wait for more than 30 minutes. It took some patience, but at least we knew our meals were freshly prepared.
We found another photo spot outside, so naturally, we had to take a group picture. We even came up with our own silly pose inspired by the word Sawadee, which means hello in Thai. A little creativity goes a long way when you’re with friends who are just as playful as you are.
It was a fun lunch with my old friends. We talked, laughed, took silly pictures, and enjoyed our time together.
Going home to the province reminded me how special these friendships are. Life gets busy, and sometimes we don’t get to see each other for a long time. But when we finally meet again, it feels like we can pick up right where we left off.
Before returning to Metro Manila and starting another chapter in my career, this lunch was a lovely way to spend time with people who have been part of my life for so long.
Good food is just a bonus, because the best part of this lunch was being reunited with my friends.
