Caleidoscopio Foodie VI

Son muchos los pequeños momentos foodie que vivo a diario y es porque siempre ando con ganas de hacer algo en la cocina; creo que se ha vuelto un modo de drenar los momentos pesados, porque no es fácil lidiar con todo lo que pasa en el mundo.

Mientras escribo, está cayendo un aguacero torrencial y, en vez de disfrutar la lluvia en casa, no dejo de pensar en que algunas zonas se vayan a inundar. ¿Ya ven? Sé que debo buscar la paz interior y actualmente cocinar es una de las actividades que me permite llenarme de tranquilidad.

There are so many little foodie moments I experience every day, and that’s because I’m always eager to do something in the kitchen; I think it’s become a way to cope with the tough times, because it’s not easy to deal with everything that’s happening in the world.

As I write this, a torrential downpour is falling, and instead of enjoying the rain at home, I can’t stop thinking about how some areas are going to flood. See what I mean? I know I need to find inner peace, and right now, cooking is one of the activities that helps me feel calm.

Estando de compras en el supermercado Río, vi alcachofas y pensé en llevar un par y luego investigar cómo se preparaban. Así lo hice y vi varios tutoriales, pero la verdad no tuve éxito. Así que queda pendiente esta preparación para una nueva oportunidad.

While shopping at the Río supermarket, I saw some artichokes and thought I'd pick up a couple and then look up how to prepare them. That's what I did, and I watched several tutorials, but to be honest, I didn't have much success. So I'll have to save this recipe for another time.

Estas fallas en la cocina también me ayudan a desahogar emociones; manejar esas frustraciones también dejan una enseñanza si así se quiere.

These mishaps in the kitchen actually help me vent my emotions; dealing with those frustrations can also teach us a lesson, if we choose to let it.

New harvest of cherry tomatoes

Aquí les muestro una pequeña y nueva cosecha de tomates cherry. Unos doce tomatitos; la planta murió después de dar estos frutos, así como también hizo la planta anterior.

Here's a small, fresh harvest of cherry tomatoes. About twelve little tomatoes; the plant died after producing these fruits, just like the previous one did.

Los llevé a hornear junto con otros tomates, ajo y alas de pollo. ¡Quedaron deliciosos!

I roasted them along with some other tomatoes, garlic, and chicken wings. They turned out delicious!
