Hello, friends especially foodies!
When you come to Surabaya, the capital of East Java, there was one place that only sold veggies made from food, this named Verte and now it is popular in the city. People become realize how vegetables important for their healthy and they remote to the veggie lifestyle.
From the outside they had a minimalist modern building style.
Inside you could find a cozy indoor dining area with wooden style, natural.
And it also had the outdoor area too. Great!
We were in large number that day so we ordered first, and then we put in a private room, only for us.
The room had a great view to their back bonsai garden, we could see it clearly from the window glass. Pretty!
We should order the menu before we come, for a large number of group, we were around 16 people that day. When we came the drink then came, tea, nothing special, except you could ask the glass and sugar to be separated.
The food also then came one by one… some were side dishes.

We also ordered some other menus, I even couldn’t mention their name.
And what they said special, were their chicken steak (made of mushroom)…
Looked yummy but.. well it made of mushroom and I didn’t know why was it hard to bite, chewy and texture was too far from the real chicken. I thought it only looked so good but not that yummy. Plus it had sweet flavour. The look like cheese even didn’t taste like cheese at all.
Curious with another steak, I tried their special steak, looked like real meat.
It tasted sweet with barbeque sweet sauce. Made of mushroom I felt the mushroom inside anyway, even it was not hard to bite like the chicken steak but still I couldn’t enjoy it. I only enjoyed their french fries which had tasty flavour of natural potato.
In my disappointment, I tried one of their side dish, spring roll, which had carrot and mushroom filling. Also tasted sweet with crunchy skin, it didn’t cure my disappointment.
I also tried their chicken like in balado sauce, but it tasted like fried dough stick, so you could taste that it contained no chicken at all. It also tasted sweet with a bit spicy flavour.
Large number of people always make me mad, so sad, I even couldn’t try all the menus that day . But I think from some menus I tried that day, enough to make first impression for me, nothing delicious there, only good looking food with no tasty flavour at all! So don’t be fooled by their looks!
I won’t recommend this restaurant at all although this place had pretty spots to take p
