Hello, friends especially foodies!
Recently mom and I had our too early dinner in one of the legendary Indonesian Chicken restaurant, which is also the favorite our our president, Mr. Joko Widodo. I believe not many restaurants become the favorite of our presidents.
The restaurant is located in a building that also had another business, a pizza restaurant, beauty salon and other restaurants, one the new was burger restaurant.
Don’t worry here they had their own parking area outside.
It was windy and it wanded our hair. Funny!
Inside you need to go upstair to finally reach the restaurant.
Eventhough it was not dining time yet, some customers were there plus the dining area was quite comfy and cozy except for the air con, somehow I didn’t feel cool in our table.
Inside you will find the picture of their grandchild with our president.
Well let’s skip that first then consentrate on our menu. Served since 1973, “ayam bulungan” is really a well known famous restaurant that could survive over decades.
Like the name, their specialists were Ayam Bulungan (bulungan chicken, roasted like chicken), metropolitan chicken (fried chicken), and roasted chicken with matah spicy chilli paste. They also had other menus to sell like gimbal egg tofu, mixed egg tofu, gado-gado, jumbo chicken satay, bacem tofu/tempeh, water spinach, salted fish beansprouts and spring rolls. Also they had kind of soto, gudeg, and some other rice packages.
They also had some fried rice, hot plate rice, and also economic packages. Some ices, and some beverages like fruit juices too.
After ordering, we only waiting around 15 minutes to get our food delivered.
What we had that day were two portions of their complete packages. Each contained rice, bulungan chicken (OMG it was too small), fried tofu, fried tempeh and soup. Plus it had authentic chilli sauce too. And we still had our authentic sour veggie soup.
Now we are in the most important section of an article, the taste and flavour, could you imagine how them taste?
Bulungan Chicken
Had too small size. It was sweet and savory with no fried type of chicken it was actually roasted and before they put many authentic ingredients to marinate it. You could dip it in the chilli paste they give to put extra flavours like spicy, sweet and savory. A must try menu, and I recommended that you eat more than just a piece. Look at their tempting chilli paste! :9 so in love
Also they would give us fried tempeh and tofu.
It actually were tasty in savory but they used too much garlic so that mom even didn’t like it. I still could have it and I think no more draculas around us, cool!
Sour Veggie Soup
Tasty and fresh it had sour sweet flavour with some veggies like melinjo leaves, long bean, corn, melinjo, peanut and some other. Although it wasn’t the best, but we still love it much. Cool!
Oh yeah, you may need around 10 USD for two if you having your dine in there.
