Today marks an exciting moment for the HiveGrove community because Season 1 has officially ended and Season 2 has already begun! Woohoo! I have to say, the hype surrounding HiveGrove right now feels completely different compared to when I first joined the game.
Before talking about Season 2, though, I want to celebrate my small achievement from Season 1. I managed to finish at #5 on the leaderboard with 1,192 points, which rewarded me with 30.043 HIVE!
I’m genuinely happy with that result because I actually joined Season 1 quite late. I didn’t experience the season from Day 1, yet somehow I managed to catch up enough to secure a spot among the Top 10. Seeing that reward arrive in my Hive wallet made all those watering sessions, interactions, and activities feel even more satisfying.
And now, unlike last season, I’m starting Season 2 from Day 1.
Game on! 😁
The HiveGrove Hype Is Getting Crazy
What really caught my attention today wasn’t only the beginning of another season. It was the unbelievable amount of engagement happening inside the HiveGrove community.
During Season 1, seeing around 300–400 comments on a HiveGrove Campfire post already felt impressive to me. But at the beginning of Season 2, one Campfire post was already approaching 900 comments!
That’s crazy.
For a Hive community centered around a social game, that level of engagement is amazing. I’ve always considered Snaps and Waves among the strongest places for engagement on Hive because short-form content makes conversations easy and spontaneous. How to Succeed on Hive’s Short-… But HiveGrove seems to be creating its own type of social activity, where playing the game naturally leads people into conversations.
And I think that’s exactly why the game is becoming so addictive.
Season 2 Gives Us More Reasons to Engage
One major reason behind the excitement is the changes made to the point system.
During the previous season, watering around five trees was enough to earn your regular leaderboard points. Once I completed that activity, there wasn’t much incentive to keep looking for more trees to water.
Season 2 seems to push this further.
There are now more opportunities to earn points by helping other players, which gives everyone a reason to visit more groves and interact with more people. There are still limits and bonuses tied to certain activities, but the important part for me is that the game encourages players to remain active longer.
And that benefits everyone.
You aren’t simply clicking a button to earn points. You’re visiting another person’s grove, helping their trees, appearing in their notifications, and eventually becoming familiar with each other.
That’s basically social networking disguised as a game. LOL!
HiveGrove Radio Could Be Something Bigger
Another addition that really caught my attention is earning points by listening to HiveGrove Radio.
I think this is actually a brilliant feature.
If listening to the radio contributes toward leaderboard progress, players naturally have an incentive to tune in. But beyond the game itself, this could become a useful promotional channel for musicians and artists within Hive.
Imagine Hive artists partnering with HiveGrove and having their music included in the radio rotation. Players are already there because they want to play, complete missions, socialize, and earn points. At the same time, they could discover musicians from our own ecosystem.
That creates another Hive use case without forcing anything on the user.
Starting Season 2 From Day 1
There are actually many changes that I’m still discovering, so I’m sure I’ll have more thoughts about Season 2 once I understand everything better.
For now, I’m simply happy.
Season 1 gave me 30.043 HIVE, a Top 5 finish, and a fun experience despite joining late. Season 2 gives me something I didn’t have before: a complete month starting from Day 1.
So this time, I want to see how far I can push myself on the leaderboard while continuing to water trees, hang around the Campfire, discover new players, and enjoy whatever new features HiveGrove introduces.
Season 2 has only started, but judging from the engagement already happening, this could become an even bigger season for the community.
Let’s grow those trees.
HiveGrove on! 🌱🔥
