I'm a horrible Hive community member lately. Yeah, I've been poking my head in and voting on a few posts. But haven't really been reading or engaging much. Am I sorry for it? Not really. Been enjoying

Some good food grilled with my cousin. Just got back from a week away from home. Took off to stay with my cousin again. Had a good time, but didn't do all that much. The temps outside were stupid hot.

You can actually see the garage floor now! Been in a Hive slump lately. Sorry, just not been around as much. However, been focusing mostly on some self-care stuff. As I stated in the last post, I was out

My Lilly girl. Finally out of my slump. Digging out took a bit, but I did it. Luckily there was support from the wifey. Also had resources like the counselor at the VA. Then there's the fact I've gotten

Photo by NASA Hubble Space Telescope on Unsplash Been away for a few days. Seemed to have found myself down a black hole with the demons again. Didn't feel like doing much of anything. No socialization.

As usual, it's just after 3 AM here as I'm typing this. Finishing my second cup of coffee. Currently contemplating all that has been completed during my garage cleanup project. And all that still needs

Some goodies just got in recently to start the build. Got the old redneck engineered radio antenna down. The one elevated with galvanized steel pipes that my youngest son and I put up a couple years ago

Had a phone call with a very old friend yesterday afternoon. Known him since I was a teenager. He was the best man at my wedding. A bit older than me. Lost touch with him off and on during my time in the

Remember those cherry tomato seeds I nearly killed? The ones I overwatered and turned into a floating disaster? Seeds going everywhere. Containers falling apart. A complete mess that the wife told me to

Father-in-law and I checking out the displays of antiques in the window of the store. Went on a little field trip today. Visited Schimpff's Confectionery in Jeffersonville, Indiana. It's been voted the

Old pipe antenna that will be replaced. Making progress on the ham shack. Taking my time. Doing it right. Decided to replace the pipe I was using for a mast with real aluminum mast sections. These are

I've been watching and reading the news a lot lately. Maybe too much. And it just fell on me like a curtain a little bit ago. The weight of it all. The heaviness. People starving. Not somewhere far away.

My tall scrawny ass running cross country in high school. I didn't have a traditional transition from teenager to adulthood. At 17 I walked into a Marine Corps recruiter's office, still hungover and, with

My Baofeng 5RM Plus Still working on the ham shack situation. Not sure if I'll be setting up in the garage yet. It would be a temporary thing anyway. Still thinking about my old office in the basement.

Few years ago when had to have IVIG infusions. Who am I now? That's a question I've been asking myself for a while. Not out loud. But in the quiet moments. The 4 AM hours when the house is still and there's

For some who have been following my posts for a while, you know I'm rebuilding my truck. Over the last few years I've repainted it. New bed liner. New rear bumper. New tires. All a piece at a time as I

I like keeping old things running. The AC unit is old. Don't know exactly how many years it has on it, but enough that every summer I wonder if this is the year it finally gives up. I mentioned before

Image AI generated. It's getting harder to remember things. Not the old stuff. I can tell you about things that happened 30 years ago like it was yesterday. But what someone just said to me? What I just

My cherry tomato plants! Garage is finally showing progress. It has more than a couple goat trails through it now. You can actually get from one end to the other. From one side to the other. There's still

New weather proof socket. One of the sockets on our outdoor lamp posts went bad. We have two that sit on each side of the driveway. Seems moisture made its way into one of them and caused corrosion. Stopped
