It’s 3 AM in the morning. But it’s not the typical early morning. I actually went to sleep early last night and feel somewhat rested. Can’t tell you how much being able to sleep normal again has changed my mental and physical state. Although I still have challenges, it has made a big difference in my energy levels.

Finally finished the garage. Well, minus my rolling tool chest. But that can be a later project. But anyway, it’s finally all done. Months of work. One trash bin at a time. One good day at a time. Done.

Now I’m working on hammering away on the old office slash new ham shack. There was so much junk and stuff in there. I filled up a large construction grade garbage bag in no time. Had old scrapbooks from high school. Notebooks filled with gibberish. Some trophies from years ago. Outdated tech. You name it, it was trashed. Then I started setting aside more sentimental things. Like pictures and stuff. Separated out stuff that can be easily placed in recycling bins. Still have a lot to do though before it’s ready for prime time operation.

Heading out to breakfast with my old Marine buddy Rick again this morning. Then dropping off more Toys for Tots collection boxes. This afternoon my friend Trevor is supposed to bring over an auger to let me look at the carburetor. I’m no mechanic, but he knows I’ve tinkered with mine on the lawn mower and got it working before. In all honesty, I just did some research, found the comparable model on Amazon, and ordered a new one. He knows this and said he could even use help doing that if need be. So glad to help a friend out. Especially on a rainy day like today will be.

Sometime during the day I may try and work on the old office some more. But that will depend on how much energy I have left at the end of all the other stuff. It has been great having the energy and improved health. Or at least improved enough. To do a little more work around the house and yard. More energy and health to get out with friends for short activities.

You don’t appreciate simple things like sleep and energy until you don’t have them. And when they come back, even partially, you notice every bit of it.

So what do you have going on this week?
