The original plant material
has been replaced with silica, calcite, pyrite, or another inorganic material,
in this case the red being vanadanium and the yellow low grade uranium. Yikes!
These gorgeous examples have been collected over the years by my wife and myself.
As a result out here where the trees have turned to stone,
We say we're not scared...We're petrified!
