Autumn is well underway in the Netherlands. Last weekend we had our first storms of the season. This caused the trees to let loose a lot of their leaves.
Today it's quite a bit calmer and the sun reappeared on the sky. A perfect moment for an afternoon walk to refresh and take some photos.

The lawns are filled with leaves after the storm of last weekend. It's a nice combination of red, yellow and green I think.

In the park is a bit more light. During the summer there is a dense canopy that makes that the whole floor is in the shade. Today I could already see a lot more of the sky. Which is nice, because the sun can also peak through now.
In summer it's not too bad that there is share everywhere. Then it is nice to cool off in the parks. A reason why it is very necessary to have a lot of trees. Especially in urban areas.

Someone has been quite creative. I spotted this opening in a tree that had two gnomes in it.
It is not the first time I came across gnomes in parks. I have even seen complete gnome villages in other parks. I think they are funny. I hope people leave them where they are.

Somewhere alongside the path I noticed this fly agaric mushroom. It wasn't too hard because of it vibrant red color. This species is probably the most recognizable mushroom because this is how we lean to draw them as a kid, isn't it?

A bit further on, I spotted another group of mushrooms. I don't know which species these are. So if you do, please tell me in the comments.
It's funny how these mushrooms have a large network of roots underground and only come out during spring.

Thanks for joining me on this autumn walk.
Do you like autumn too?
