Good morning my dear #Hivers! Today I am going to share with you my recipe to make the traditional and delicious tequeños. This typical dish of our Venezuela is the most beloved appetizer of parties and meetings; as well as we also use it as a snack, breakfast, and dinner, and even in the children's lunchbox. Hope you like!!
500gr de harina de trigo
500gr de queso blanco
1 taza de agua
2 cucharadas de aceite
1 cucharadita de sal
1 cucharadita de levadura seca
1 cucharada de azúcar
500gr of wheat flour
500gr of white cheese
1 cup of water
2 tablespoons oil
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dry yeast
1 spoon of sugar
- Mix all the ingredients except the flour in a plastic container.
- Add the flour little by little as it is stirred with a wooden spoon.
- When the mixture is already getting thick, continue adding the flour as it is kneaded with your hands.
- When achieving a compact dough that does not stick to the hands, continue kneading for 10 to 15 min.
- Place the dough in a plastic bag and let it rest for a few hours until it increases in size.
- Chop cheese sticks as long as you want the tequeños.
- Remove the dough from the bag, cut into pieces and roll them out on a clean and dry surface with a rolling pin, sprinkle more flour so that it does not stick to the rolling pin and the surface.
- Chop long strips and roll the cheese sticks around them, taking care that there are no uncovered spaces.
- Fry in abundant boiling oil.
- Remove and place on a napkin or absorbent paper.
- Prepare some delicious sauces or creams to accompany the tequeños.
- If fried tequeños are placed in disposable aluminum trays, they will keep warm and soft for longer.
- To keep them in the freezer, it is recommended to use disposable anime trays.
- Another way to keep them in the freezer is in plastic plates or trays wrapped with envoplast.
- When freezing, it is suggested to sprinkle flour to prevent them from sticking to each other.
- Before frying they should be left out of the freezer for several minutes to avoid being raw inside.
- The best cheeses to make tequeños are: semi-hard llanero cheese and the popular paisa cheese.
- When frying, the oil must be boiling but not excessively because it would burn them.
Hasta aquí mi receta del día, espero que la pongan en práctica y disfruten de unos deliciosos tequeños cada vez que lo deseen. ¡¡Feliz día!!
So far my recipe of the day, I hope you put it into practice and enjoy some delicious tequeños whenever you want. Happy day!!
