Can you say HOT?!🥵🔥 That is what it was! It hit 93 today and is currently a muggy 77 as I type at almost 9:30 PM! Needless to say, we stayed in mostly with the air conditioning courtesy of the sun!🌞 From time to time, I’d pace indoors and also outdoors, but in mini walks. I also had a lot of watering of my flower and vegetable containers before it got super hot. Now I know a lot of you have experienced just as hot of conditions for prolonged periods of time but frankly, we just aren’t used to it this year. When it changes like the snap of your fingers and feels like it’s sucked the air out of your lungs-well that’s just no fun and hard to adapt to! 🥵🤪
During one of my quick outdoor jaunts, this guy was busy making quick use of the wires that the grapes climb on.
@actifit-lamb didn’t want to hike in the heat either, but she did accompany me on one of my mini hikes on our property. Here she sits on top of the wellhead which has evidence of the squirrels who are busy trying to beat me to the walnut harvest.
@silvertop had asked for a latte and after I got to looking at it, i could see a bee 🐝 in his cup!
So on the afternoon wore and as evening approached, we decided to eat first, digest a little and then go out for an evening hike up the hills to the end of the road where the trailhead begins. This was the view of the evening sky.
As we headed up, it became very obvious that we were not alone! Bats!🦇 They only come out at night ( hmmmm... that reminds me of an album title) and they were out in full force! It was almost like being escorted on our hike! On the way down, one flew so close to us, I felt the air movement of its flight!😳🦇
We made it home safe and sound! Soon, it will be time for bed. Tomorrow, it’s back to the Suzuki dealership to have them install the parts that were ordered last month. I am hoping this fixes the issues.
