We continue with the StreetArt festival Under Pressure which took place in Montreal in August. Today, we're discovering all the artworks on the La Patrie building on rue Sainte-Catherine. As the building is unoccupied, the windows and doors are boarded up with wooden planks. Perfect for displaying a few works of art...

Nous continuons avec le festival StreetArt Under Pressure qui s'est déroulé le 12 et le 13 aout dernier à Montréal. Aujourd'hui, on découvre toutes les œuvres qui se trouve sur le bâtiment La Patrie sur la rue Sainte-Catherine. Comme l'immeuble est inoccupé, les fenêtres et les portes sont barrées avec des planches de bois. Parfait pour mettre quelques œuvres d'art...

The main door features the Birth of Miss Piggy by Nikki Küntzle, a reinterpretation of the famous painting by Botticelli.

Sur la porte principale, on retrouve la Naissance de Miss Piggy réalisée par Nikki Küntzle, une réinterprétation de la fameuse peinture de Botticelli.

WHERE

At the corner of De Lorimier Avenue and Ontario Street, just after the Jacques Cartier Bridge when entering Montreal. Today, we're on rue Sainte-Catherine at the La Patrie building built in 1905, which for many years housed the offices and presses of the newspaper La Patrie. Since 2007, however, it has been abandoned, despite its superb façade. I noticed that I hadn't taken any photos of the whole building.

Le festival Under Pressure se déroule essentiellement aux alentours de la rue Sainte Catherine entre le boulevard Saint Laurent et la rue Sanguinet. Aujourd'hui, nous sommes sur la rue Sainte-Catherine au niveau du bâtiment La Patrie construit en 1905 abritant pendant de nombreuses années les bureaux et les presses du journal La Patrie. Mais depuis 2007, il est laissé à l'abandon malgré sa superbe façade. J'ai remarqué que je n'avais pris aucune photo de ce building dans son ensemble.

Aldarwin aka Aldarwin Hernadez Garcia, a Mexican artist based in Montreal, has painted one of his colorful monsters bothering little people and their houses, just like on the mur Légal de Rouen. As usual, the outcome of the battle seems obvious 😀.

Leys & La Rue (?)

We continue with two letterings with one in 3D perhaps by La Rue 🔼 and the other by Leys 🔽, beautiful realization knowing that a wasp's nest was hidden behind the wooden panel. Poor him / FR : On continue avec deux lettrages avec un en 3D peut être par La Rue 🔼 et l'autre par Leys 🔽, belle réalisation en sachant qu'un nid de guêpes était caché derrière le panneau de bois. Pauvre lui 😀.

Audrey-Anne Néron

We finish the La Patrie building with the works of Neron aka Audrey-Anne Néron 🔼, as colorful and wacky as ever. I like her style it puts a little joy in the street (especially this part of Sainte-Catherine Street, it needs it). Then we have some great lettering by JRNE with a rather disturbing character by Mos Geez.

On termine le bâtiment La Patrie avec les œuvres de Neron aka Audrey-Anne Néron 🔼, toujours aussi coloré et loufoque. J'aime bien son style cela met un peu de joie dans la rue (surtout cette partie de la rue Sainte-Catherine, elle en a bien besoin). Puis, on a une superbe lettrage de JRNE avec un personnage assez inquiétant par Mos Geez.

MonoSourcil

On the other side of Avenue Hôtel de Ville, a bar received the same treatment on its lower section, with a work by MonoSourcil featuring single-browed figures. Followed by Positive in gold paint.

De l'autre côté de l'avenue Hôtel de ville, un bar a reçu le même traitement sur sa partie basse avec une œuvre de MonoSourcil avec ses personnages à un seul sourcil. Suivi de Positive en peinture dorée.

What's your favorite work? For me, it's Aldarwin with its colorful monsters. And don't forget to participate to the contest.
