ESP/ENG - Cementerio de Recoleta y sus Increíbles Historias | Recoleta Cemetery and its Incredible Stories

Empecé a escribir este post en la medianoche de Halloween, y lo terminé ahora, en el Día de los Santos; por lo que me pareció una buena oportunidad para compartir 5 de las muchas historias muy interesantes, que uno puede descubrir si visita el Cementerio de Recoleta de Buenos Aires.

No hay dudas de que este cementerio es uno de los mas importantes de nuestro país y del mundo, y no por nada recibe la cantidad que recibe de visitas tanto de ciudadanos argentinos como de turistas extranjeros. Quienes vienen de otros países, lo hacen especialmente porque aquí se encuentra sepultada Evita (Perón). Pero son muchísimas las personalidades de la política (como presidentes!), literatura, premios Nobel y mas, que se encuentran en este gran espacio.

Y como las familias que se encuentran aquí, en su época tenían mucho dinero, sus tumbas son verdaderas obras de arte. Muchas han sido incluso declaradas "Monumentos Históricos Nacionales" y realizadas por importantes artistas.

Yo quisiera compartir las siguientes historias, porque me parece sorprendente que hayan pasado en la vida real. Excepto la que involucra hechos sobrenaturales... que nunca sabremos si de verdad pasó... cada uno decide si cree o no.

Después de probablemente uno de los días mas felices de su vida, su casamiento, ella y su esposo, fueron a pasar su luna de miel en Austria. Lamentablemente, por la noche mientras se encontraban en el hotel, un alud embistió la ventana de su habitación.

En su escultura tiene su vestido de novia y su anillo, y se encuentra acompañada por su fiel amigo perruno, a quien los visitantes del cementerio suelen tocarle el hocico para la 'buena suerte'.

After probably one of the happiest days of her life, her wedding, she and her husband went to spend their honeymoon in Austria. Unfortunately, at night while they were in the hotel, an avalanche hit the window of their room.

In her sculpture she has her wedding dress and ring, and is accompanied by her loyalty dog friend, Sabu, whose snout is often touched by visitors to the cemetery for 'good luck'.

Muchos matrimonios tienen discusiones y se van a dormir sin hablarse. Pero en este caso fue un poco mas el tiempo que estuvieron sin hablar. Porque pasaron 30 años ignorándose... hasta que el falleció. El motivo? Ella gastaba tanta plata, que el publicó en el diario que no se haría cargo de sus deudas, lo que la ofendió, dejando de hablarle hasta su muerte.

Con parte del dinero que heredó como viuda, Tiburcia encargó hacer este gran mausoleo, para después al morir ella, tener su busto dándole la espalda, y poder así seguir enojada e "ignorarlo durante toda la eternidad". Dicho por ella misma, según cuenta la historia.

Many married couples have arguments and go to bed without talking to each other. But in this case it was a little longer than that. Because they spent 30 years ignoring each other... until he passed away. The reason? She spent so much money that he published in the newspaper that he would not take care of her debts, which offended her, and she stopped talking to him until his death.

With part of the money she inherited as a widow, Tiburcia commissioned the construction of this large mausoleum, so that when she died, she could have his bust facing her back, and thus remain angry and "ignore him for eternity". Said by herself, as the story goes.

Tenía que ser en su día de cumpleaños número 19, cuando antes de los festejos, su amiga quiso contarle a Rufina, que SU novio, estaba teniendo también una secreta relación amorosa con SU mamá. Y el novio era nada mas y nada menos que uno de nuestros presidentes, Hipólito Yrigoyen.

Al descubrir semejante traición, ella cayó desvanecida, y dada por muerta. Fue sepultada en este cementerio. Tiempo después, el cuidador se encontró con que el ataúd tenía roturas y arañazos. También su cara. Pruebas de que ella no había realmente fallecido. Estaba viva cuando la sepultaron, y luego al despertar, evidentemente murió de un infarto. Es decir, murió dos veces.

Por eso su escultura es de ella con la mano en el picaporte, como queriendo irse.

It had to be on her 19th birthday, when before the festivities, her friend wanted to tell Rufina that HER boyfriend was also having a secret love affair with HER mother. And the boyfriend was none other than one of our presidents, Hipólito Yrigoyen.

Upon discovering such a betrayal, she fainted and was left for dead. She was buried in this cemetery. Some time later, the caretaker found that the coffin had tears and scratches. So did her face. Proof that she was not really dead. She was alive when she was buried, and then when she awoke, she evidently died of a heart attack. In other words, she died twice.

That is why her sculpture is of her with her hand on the doorknob, as if she wanted to leave.

Este joven representado en la escultura, trabajó como cuidador del cementerio, y asi se lo puede ver en esta obra, con sus herramientas de trabajo. Después de tantos años en este lugar, terminó por obsesionarse con ser sepultado aquí también, por lo que se dedicó a ahorrar y así tener su propio espacio y escultura en este lugar.

Según cuenta la historia, una vez tuvo su escultura finalizada, avisó que no iba a poder asistir a trabajar, y se pegó un tiro para poder estrenar la tumba y ser parte para siempre de este lugar. Increíble.

This young man represented in the sculpture, worked as a caretaker of the cemetery, and this is how he can be seen in this work, with his work tools. After so many years in this place, he became obsessed with being buried here as well, so he dedicated himself to save money and thus have his own space and sculpture in this place.

As the story goes, once he had his sculpture finished, he announced that he was not going to be able to attend work, and shot himself so that he could unveil his tomb and be part of this place forever. Is not unbelievable.?

Otra chica que murió joven. A los 15 años. Según dicen, una noche, un joven de la alta sociedad la vio llorando cerca del cementerio, se acercó y la invitó a tomar un café en "La Biela". Tuvieron una linda cita, se besaron, hasta que ella de repente se levantó para irse, diciendo que ya era tarde, y sin querer volcó café en el saco de él, quien la siguió, pero ella desapareció en la entrada del cementerio. El llamó, gritó y golpeó el portón hasta que el cuidador lo dejó entrar. Allí pudo encontrarla, pero descubriendo que era una figura de mármol, y arriba de la escultura, su saco manchado.

En la tumba además se puede ver un espacio, que es donde la madre pasó varias noches 'durmiendo' ahí. Después de conseguir un permiso para eso. Otra historia realmente increíble.

Another girl who died young. At the age of 15. In the tomb you can also see a space, which is where the mother spent several nights 'sleeping' there. After getting a permit for that. Another really incredible story.
