(Creative Sunday)-Traditional Way To Cook Mutton Qorma !!!

Nowadays girls like to cook fast, and it is done by cooking in a pressure cooker, but today I asked my wife if we are not going to cook this dish in a Pressure Cooker, but instead today we will cook it with our traditional method and in Mud Pot, In Urdu, we called this Mud pot as Handi.

let's Start.


  • 750 Grams of Mutton Meat
  • 1 TableSpoon Ginger Garlic Paste.
  • 10-12 Cloves.
  • 2 Pieces of Black cardamom
  • 8-10 Green Cardamon
  • 1 TableSpoon Turmeric Powder.
  • 1 TableSpoon Red Chilli Powder.
  • 1 TableSpoon Coriander Powder.
  • 1 TeaSpoon Cumin Powder.
  • 500 Grams Youghert
  • 1 Cup Oil.
  • 2 Medium Size Onions
  • salt ( as per your taste )

Cooking Procedure

First of all, add yoghurt into an empty bowl, as yoghurt is of white colour, you might not be able to see it, but believe it is there :-P

Now add Oil to the Yoghurt, you may be able to see the yoghurt.

Oil will make a separate layer like in the picture.

Now mix it extremely well so that both yoghurt and oil don't look separate, beat can take up to 8-10 minutes.

Now take all the dry spice into a separate plate, you can see the garlic paste in the mid of the plate.

Now add them to the bowl containing mixed yoghurt and oil.

Now add all this into the Mud pot.

Now wash the Mutton meat properly

add it to the cooking mud pot.

Mix all the ingredients in the pot properly.

cook it for almost 2 hours until the mutton meat becomes soft. Make sure the fire should be a light flame. You can see this in the picture.

Now Fry the onions until they turn light brown, take them out from the oil and place it on the tissue paper to remove excess oil.

after the oil is removed, crush the fried light brown onions.

when the mutton is softened, add this onion paste to the cooking mud pot. Now cover the cooking pot properly and wait for 5 minutes to cook, so that the onions mix in the cooking pot very well. This onion will enhance the taste of the Mutton Qorma. Fried onions are one of the main ingredients of mutton qorma.

now it is ready and you can eat it with Bread and anything you like. It was so tasty and yummy.
