(Creative Sunday)-How to cook White Lentil (Ural Dal) At Home?

For the past two weeks, we have been eating chicken, meat, and fish and we were kinda tired of eating all these things again and again, so today We decided to Cook, a white Lentil (Ural Dal) which is protein-enrich and is also very easy to cook and very light to eat.

let's Start.


  • 1/2 KG white Lentil ( Ural Dal )
  • 5,6 Tomattos
  • 10-15 Green chillies.
  • 1 Cup yoghurt.
  • 1 Inch Ginger Slice
  • Salt ( as per your taste )
  • 1 Table Spoon Crushed Chilli Powder
  • 2 TableSpoon Corriender Powder.
  • 1 TeaSpoon Turmeric
  • 1 TeaSpoon Crushed Cumin Powder
  • 1 Chicken Cube
  • 1 and a half Cup Oil
  • 1 Bunch of Green Coriander

Cooking Procedure

First of all, clean the lentils and soak them in water for 2 hours at least.
wash it three times after cleaning with water.

Now Boil the lentil and add some salt to it.

Boil it at a low flame, boil it for at least 15 minutes. keep checking it until it gets softened.

after boiling, Stain it with stainer and keep it aside.

Now Cut coriander, tomatoes, green chillies and ginger in Julian form. Here we will use half-green chillies and chop them.

Now bring Oil

Put oil into the cooking Pot.

Add chopped Green chillies in hot oil. Cook it for 1 minute.

Now add Tomatoes and cook it for 2-3 minutes, until tomatoes get soften.

Bring Yoghurt and put it in the cooking Pot. cook it for 3-4 minutes.

Now bring the dry spices. I have listed them in ingredients section above.

Add all dry spices in to the cooking pot except the chicken cube, we will use it later.

Mix it well and cook it for 2 minutes.

Now add the chicken cube to the cooking pot and cook for 1 minute, make sure the chicken cube get met and mixed properly. it will enhance taste.

NOw bring boiled lentil which was kept in the stainer, put it to the cooking pot and cook for 4-5 minutes.

Now add green chillies, corriender and ginger in to the cooking pot and cook it for 1-2 minutes.

You can also add a little amount of "hot Spices" on the top of it.

here you have your dish ready to eat.
