Live Summit - Urban Jam + Season 4 Episode 1: The Contractor OUT NOW! [Let's Play Games #16]

After going back and forth with the presumptions when the new season will appear in The Crew 2 I can finally say that the wait is OVER! - Phew! What a relief!

Yep, yep, we can finally explore a different side of the game other than the weekly Live Summits that are released every Wednesday, the one from this week being called Urban Jam.

Anyway, as much as I'm looking forward to having a look at what the new season brought us, we have to take everything step by step, so let's first jump into the Live Summit: Urban Jam that will be available from 17-24th November and see what missions we can enjoy this week:

  1. Speedtrap - where you have to cross a specific area on the map with a speed faster than 200 km/h. [No Restriction Race]
  2. Escape - you are needed to drive at least 700 m away from the starting point to qualify further. [No Restriction Race]
  3. Slalom - where you have to make a slalom between different objects placed on the ground and collect at least 2,610 points. [No Restriction Race]
  4. Touring - a pretty basic race held on the circuit where you have to cross the finish line in Top 3 to win the race. [No Restriction Race]
  5. Street - one of those usual races in the city but where this time you will drive a taxi which makes the subject of the new season called The Contractor. You need to reach Top 3 to have the race marked as completed. [Crown Victoria Marco's Cab required]
  6. Street - similar to the previous race but without being forced to use a specific car. You still need to finish the race in Top 3. [No Restriction Race]
  7. Street - another race based on the current season but where you are driving a limo and have to end the race on the first 3 positions to win it. [Crown Victoria Limousine required]
  8. Drift - as it name says, you have to do drifts on a specially arranged trail and gather a specific number of points to qualify further. [Aventador LP 700-4 required]
  9. Street - ending the event in the same style with another Street Race held in the city but where you can use any vehicle you want. You have to cross the finish line being placed in the Top 3. [No Restriction Race]

The available missions were sort of a mix between the common races we got used with, as well as some of them being part of the new season which is a great way to learn what you will have to do in the first episode of The Contractor.

Looking up at the stats I earned in this Live Summit we can easily see that I had some serious problems with the Escape race, which is basically held in the city and there are a lot of curves and blocked roads that it makes it really hard to get too far from the starting point.

The 7th race was another challenge because it's the first time I drive a limo in this game and it's really not one of the best cars you can pick for a race because it's very hard to take the curves without stopping in a wall. I tried it for like 6 times and that's the best score I could get.

However, I'm happy I managed to get two of the cars missing from the event because both the 5th and 7th races had the vehicles required missing. The Aventador LP 700-4 required for the Drift Race is around 730,000 bucks, so looking at my wallet I can guarantee that I'll manage to purchase it as well very soon after I complete a few more races.

Anyway, it's time to welcome the new world presented in The Crew 2 which is about the transportation services! Clients like Marco’s Cabs, Diamond Limousine and Rocket Co. are going to dominate the first episode of season 4 where you have to show those your driving skills and that there is no street to put you in difficulties when you have to deliver your passenger in a specific deadline!

As fun as it seems, I first thought that you are actually going to have a passenger in the car and maybe come with requirements like not hitting the wall or other cars during the driving, but in reality, we are talking about usual races but with taxis and limos instead of your usual cars.

I gotta be honest and mention that when I was a kid and played GTA III the most fun part for me was to play as a taxi driver and pick people from a place and drive them all the way to the destination, and I was really hoping for this to become reality in the new season of The Crew 2. This is disappointing! πŸ™

The patch size for PC was of approx 36 GB so, after such a big update, we should have some expectations about what we are going to discover when we open up the game, right? I thought so too!

The size of the update can be quite easily explained since there was added a new game mode in The Crew 2 that came with a lot of new open-world activities, ultra modded events, freshly added vehicles, and... last but not least, an all-new Motorpass with rewards to be claimed on each level you get.

There are also going to be released on a weekly basis through the shop 98 vanity items, where 58 of them will be part of the Motorpass, while the rest will become rewards of the Live Summit events:

  • 10x smokes;
  • 19x tires;
  • 14x underglows;
  • 11x nitros;
  • 13x horns;
  • 9x window tints;
  • 14x rooftops;
  • 4x outfits;
  • 4x helmets.

I know that maybe most of them seem unfamiliar for you, but each one of the elements from the list above are part of being able to custom tunning your favourite cars, such as adding special effects when you use nitro, press the brake pedal, or simply pick a different color for the tires or the light under the vehicle. You can see some of them presented down below:

Along with the exciting news about the Season 4 Episode 1: The Contractor being finally out, it came to my knowledge that there were added in advance 17 Live Summits, being able to have a sneak peek to 9 of them that can be seen in the following picture.

Of course, the first one wasn't a surprise anymore since it's the current event going on called Urban Jam which was also presented in this article, but it's still nice to see some of the upcoming ones.

One more thing that I kept mentioning in my previous posts is that the advantage of having a season going on in the game is that there will be released 5x Daily Challenges and 4x Weekly Challenges which are not necessarily based on the season but which will make you return every day to complete them because each of the Daily Challenge completed will help you earn 2x Motorstars while the Weekly ones will bring 20x Motorstars each.

All those Motorstars earned are equivalent to the exp we usually get in every game we can level up, but where you need 10x Motorstars for each level. Of course, levelling up doesn't come for nothing because each level completed will bring at least one reward and we all know how much we love to constantly change the appearance of our in-game character or vehicles we drive.

Unfortunately, this is not free for everyone because you will have to purchase an in-game Motorpass that will unlock the rewards for you. Now are entering on the scene the Crew Credits I told you about on a previous post.

There are needed 80,000 CC for the Premium Motorpass version and 150,000 CC for the Premium Motorpass Bundle version.

Both of the versions will unlock the 50 tiers where you will level up by completing the daily and weekly tasks, but what it brings in plus the one with the bundle, is a bonus of 12 more rewards that will be exclusively found on this version and unlocked immediately.

Over here you can see some of the rewards based on your level as well as the daily and weekly challenges.

Personally, I didn't have enough money to buy any of the two versions so what I'm going to do is to keep playing the missions that will get me to the levels where the rewards are free for everyone, and collect the rest of CC needed for the Premium Motorpass.

As soon as I collect the total amount needed, I'm going to purchase the 1st version presented and all the past rewards that were locked will become available, yay!
