Pain - What do you think about pain? What do you think is the role of pain in life?

To begin this topic let's find out what pain really is.

Pain is an unpleasant sensation that is frequently brought on by strong or harmful stimuli. The International Association for the Study of Pain defines pain as "an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with, or resembling that associated with, actual or potential tissue damage."

From the above, one can safely say that pain has to do with the senses and emotions then manifested in the outward appearance of the person so affected.

Most people experience some level of pain at some point in their lives, and when it becomes severe enough, it may be a crippling condition.

When our pain receptors are functioning properly, pain is an effective mechanism for our bodies to communicate to our brains when a stimuli poses a risk to our general wellbeing.

What do you think is the role of pain in life?

Generally put, pain alerts us to the possibility of tissue damage or the presence of an injury. The nerve system may be physically or chemically harmed, and it may or may not be evident. Pain therefore is the body's alert system, regardless of the fact that its characteristics may vary.

It is therefore pertinent to note that when one starts feeling pains the peron should read the signs as a warning, seek out medical attention immediately before it becomes too late.
