Today we are enjoying a delicious fish soup. The coast of Sucre offers a wide variety of fish, which is a great privilege as it allows us to eat them every day and try different species. The star of this recipe is the cataco, a fairly meaty fish that makes a good broth, making it the perfect choice for lunch.

Preparation:

I placed the water and the pieces of cassava, previously peeled, in a pot. I added a tablespoon of salt.

Then I set about removing the skins from the rest of the vegetables, cut them into pieces, and stored them in the oven (turned off) until the cassava softened.

Shortly after, I washed the seasonings, removed all the seeds from the chili peppers and bell peppers, and cut them into pieces. This last ingredient gives the soup a very pleasant flavor. I peeled the onion and chopped it into julienne strips.

I crushed the garlic clove and left large pieces; I like to feel this more pronounced flavor in the soup.

I added the rest of the vegetables and 10 minutes later the fish. I cooked it a little longer and added the seasonings. When they softened, I turned off the heat and poured in the crushed garlic. I let it rest and then my soup was ready to enjoy with my family.
