English version

For lunch today, I made a delicious chicken dish with potatoes, carrots, and seasonings, and it turned out great. Combining potatoes and carrots is a classic in cooking; these flavors are extraordinary in stews—the potatoes thicken the sauce, and the carrots add a subtle natural sweetness.

Ingredients:

  • 4 chicken pieces
  • 2 bell peppers
  • 1 carrot
  • 2 potatoes
  • 6 sweet peppers
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Oil

Preparation:

I washed the vegetables and removed the seeds from both the hot peppers and the bell peppers. I peeled the potatoes and the carrot. I also peeled the outer layer off the onions. Then I diced everything into small cubes. This step is important because, in this case, I noticed a hot pepper; when I handled it, I sensed something was off, which I confirmed when I tasted it.

Next, I placed a skillet on the stove with a little oil and sautéed the chili peppers, bell peppers, and onion. Once they became translucent, I added the potato and carrot pieces.

When everything was cooked to perfection, I added the chicken pieces along with a pinch of salt and half a cup of water. I turned the heat to medium and covered the pan to speed up the cooking process; the idea was to keep the stew moist enough to create a sauce.

The potatoes and carrots softened in fifteen minutes. The stew turned out flavorful, thick, and perfect to serve with white rice—a combination that never disappoints. As is my custom, I avoided seasoned salts, spices, and artificial flavorings; natural food is the healthiest, and that’s why I really enjoy cooking.
