Good morning fellow foodies!
Sometimes you wake up feeling completely drained with no motivation. You’re just craving something and the only thing in your fridge is "don’t look at me, I’ve got nothing!" However today I managed to find some sausages, some eggs and a lovely red checkered table cloth that always brings me back to my childhood. Every grandmas had one of these!
How to do it:
Chop the sausages into thin slices. Pop into a non stick pan with some butter/oil and fry on a low/medium heat until they start to brown. Next crack the eggs onto the sausages and let the whites cook. If you like your egg runny then cover with a lid and cook for 1 minute. Sprinkle over some cream powder, cheese and salt (don’t put too much as the sausage is a bit salty).
The best part of this is the toast! A piece of toast, a slice of sausage, some egg and you’re in heaven! (I toasted my toast in the pan )
Saffron Tea Firstly grind up some Iranian saffron with a cube of sugar (this makes it easier to make into a powder). Put some ice cubes over the top of the powder to make it release all the colour and flavour. Add to your warm tea and let it infuse. Don’t boil the saffron as you will lose the amazing smell! The beautiful amber colour looks so pretty in a glass cup.
Did you know saffron has many benefits! It can help improve your mood, reduce anxiety, improve heart health and improve brain function!
A quick note Living a healthy lifestyle doesn’t mean you have to eat quinoa and salads everyday. Knowing what you are putting into your body, how much and how you feel whilst eating. We don’t eat sausage everyday but on a Friday morning with someone you love and a nice cup of saffron tea it really hits the spot. Add some cucumber and tomato on the side to make your conscience feel better.
If you liked this post please like and tell me what your favourite breakfast is? Have you ever used saffron before? In my next post I’m going to be making a heavenly saffron dessert! P.S I am not a native English speaker so there may have been some errors! Thank you so much for supporting me! 🙏
