Just enjoying our day out here at Lahul and Spiti Region of Himachal Pradesh. And yes it was my first time visiting this unseen side of the Himayalas. Usually this portion is mostly covered under a thick blanked of snow but it was summers and we gat a chance to explore this hidden gem of the Himalayas.

Last week was one to escape Prague, gripped by what we Czechs consider a heatwave鈥攖hough our perception is often somewhat exaggerated. To our defense, even my Prague-based Indian friends from Delhi and Hyderabad admitted they felt hot, blaming the high humidity. Since Czechs naturally love outdoor activities, especially at higher elevations, it was no surprise that my Spanish girlfriend and I decided to seek a haven in the Alps, the nearest real mountain range to Prague. For historical reasons, we call certain hills of less than 500 meters mountains. We spent the first few days in the Gastein area, which I have visited several times for skiing. With multiple hiking routes available, we even found one that offered a refreshing dip in a mountain lake at around 1,900 meters.

I love diving and snorkeling and such but you can't really make a whole vacation out of that unless you take proper courses and get serious, and then you're missing out on all the other stuff. However, being married, we dedicated some time to some beach stuff both in our brief stint in Barcelona and across these five famous fishing villages, collectively known as Cinque Terre.
