Hello everyone ✨
The last time I got any kind of formal education on fruits was in my first year in college. I remember my biology lecturer brushing through the topic "reproduction in plants":-) and that was the last time I came in contact with fruits in a formal environment.

Fruits and I go way back. We've been tight buddies for as long as I can remember. There are over 2,000 types of fruits in the world and I have tasted 1% – that's a whole lot if you ask me😅.
It's safe to say that fruits are one of the best things that happened to mankind. The place in the Bible was called a Garden of Eden and not a Restaurant of Eden for a reason, think about it. Without further ado, let me delve into the prompt of week: Fruits by @mypathtofire.
We have all come in contact with different kinds of fruits and we know that the abundance/availability of fruit depends on your geographical location. In the northern hemisphere, there are quite a number of fruits one could take. Some of them include: apples, cucumbers, bananas, pineapples etc . We don't easily come in contact with fruits like strawberries, pomegranates, peaches and the likes.
What's My Favourite Fruit?
Whenever other people are asked this question, you hear things like pineapples, papaya and bananas. Sorry to burst your bubbles, but my favourite fruit is cucumber then avocado pear follows suit. I came to this conclusion a few years ago when I was seriously sick and the only thing I could eat was cucumber.
Disclaimer: cucumbers are usually considered as vegetables because of they way they are used in the culinary world, however, they are botanically known as fruits
Aside from the numerous health benefits that cucumbers have, some of the benefits I like are:
Cucumbers are hydrating: you can't be a constant eater of cucumbers and still lack proper hydration.
Cucumbers help with bowel movement: the presence of fibres in cucumbers help with bowel movement. So if you're one to eat a lot, you should cultivate the habit of taking cucumbers regularly to aid digestion.
Cucumber are high in nutrients: the fun fact is that they are low in calories but contain a lot of essential nutrients that the body needs(I bet some people thought cucumbers were just water and seeds)
It got to a point where I could easily take cucumbers with anything. Cucumber drinks, cucumber and cakes, etc My most crazy combination was cucumber in noodles(you don't even want to hear this story😅).
With likes come dislikes
One can't exactly say that they dislike something unless they have tried it out right? Well, I tried out papaya many years ago and I can boldly say that I dislike it(I have weird taste for fruits... I'm aware😅). There is something about papaya (paw-paw) that doesn't sit right with me.
The look is appealing but the taste of ripe/ soft papaya is a total turn off. In a life or death situation, I wouldn't still eat papayas. It's worthy to note that this fruit didn't do anything to me nor did I do anything to it, but still, we understand ourselves.
I've tasted a variety of fruits and I still want to taste more. On my fruit bucket list are mayhaws, plums, figs and peaches. I hope I'd like them when I eventually get to taste them.
Thank you for your time.
With love, wongi ✨
