This is yet another drama that occured when I was younger. I didn't know what type of training they were giving us but we weren't happy with the training. If we asked any of our parents for money to buy anything that is not school related, they would give you 80% of the money and tell you to find the rest.

The money was given only after they had done their own research on the actual price so that we don't inflate the prices. This was our parents' technique of teaching us how to save……maybe.

My sister who got fed up with the lifestyle decided to rebel one day. One Monday morning before we were carried to school by the driver, my sister went back inside the house for about two minutes and came out panting. One could clearly see that she was in so much tension.

I asked what was the matter and she said nothing. We arrived at school and classes were going on just fine. During break time, after eating my food, I heard a group of people making unusual loud noises outside so I looked. They were cheering for my sister. She was a very smart girl so I assumed she had A'ed all her test papers once again.

The next moment she was at the door of my classroom with gala and caprisonne. That wasn't what we were given for break time but who am I to say no to free snacks. I got it, of course I did.

Fast forward to school over. It was 4 O'clock and neither the driver nor any of my parents had come to get us. Whenever it happens like that, we conclude that we have been forgotten so we start trekking home since we were strictly warned never to enter public transport without a known guardian.

As we began trekking, my dad drove into the school gate. On our way home he was so chill. He didn't ask any razz questions. Just normal questions like: how were your classes? Hope you had fun today.

When we got home, we ate and slept like any normal day. I woke up to the cries of my sister. What is the matter this time around? It was evening already.

We were all summoned to the parlour. I wasn't ready for any form of flogging. I was already singing "it's not me" on my way there.

When we got there, my sister was standing in the middle of the parlour. My dad then said, "tell the whole family what you did".

Amidst tears, she began.

" This morning, before I went to school, I took a bundle of money from daddies room. I wanted to spend money too. On reaching school, I started buying things for all my classmates and even my class teacher. My class teacher got alarmed, called daddy and told him everything. I still couldn't spend all the money so daddy caught me with the rest of the money. I'm very very sorry." She left everyone in awe.

No wonder people were hailing her. No wonder the caprisonne. No wonder all the chops we ate while waiting for the driver. This was me thinking that she had brought her life savings to school that day.

The question my dad asked was, "how do you want me to punish you?" He gave her the floor to choose her own punishment.
I don't quite remember how it ended but it definitely didn't end well😂. After that day, whenever she saw money that wasn't hers, she kept her distance.

With love, wongi ✨

Estaban animando a mi hermana.
