Today we have two kittens visiting us: Moore Meow and his sister Meow Moore. The start of their life was not entirely successful: someone simply put their mother cat with her newborn kittens out. What a disgusting act! Although I鈥檓 no longer surprised by anything.
But fortunately, this was a situation where misfortune turned into happiness. The cat and kittens were found by volunteers. They spent two weeks in a veterinary clinic because the kittens had become infected with a viral infection. But in the end they recovered. I took the kittens, but their mother was still in the clinic - she was awaiting sterilization. I know that many people have a negative attitude towards sterilization. In turn, I have a negative attitude when kittens and puppies are thrown away like garbage. Cats are capable of multiplying exponentially, and if the choice is between sterilization and hundreds of unfortunate kittens trying to survive and ultimately dying from disease or injury, then I choose sterilization.
At first these two kittens were very timid and kept hiding. Most likely, they had never known a good attitude from a person and my company caused them anxiety and possibly fear. Patience, patience and more patience! - I told myself. I just brought food for them and went about my business as if not paying attention to them.
Gradually, these two fluffy, timid lumps seemed to thaw out and turned into cheerful and active kittens. I really love such moments when a dog or cat, who has seen little good from people, at some point decides to take a risk and trust a person, allow themselves to feel like a pet. This is a wonderful moment.
