When mother cat was pregnant with her kittens, I noticed that she slept on most intervals, each time I looked for her to feed her, she was always found sleeping at the backyard.
Day time never seemed like day time for her as she slept and kept sleeping through the night she only woke up often to eat her meals.
Most meals we kept for her seemed not to be appreciated as she will sniff the meals and refuse to eat them.

Here's the story, we own a male cat and a two female cats. Their colors are black (female mother cat) white (female cat) ash color (male cat).
The male cat and the white female cat (I didn't put their photos here) will always eat anything given to them and while this black female cat is always selective.
The kind of foods we feed this cat includes but not limited to fish, milk, cow skin, cooked rice, eba and soup, crayfish, porridge beans, porridge yam or plantain and snacks.
The cats also go out to get their raw meals from nearby bushes. Funny enough, the black mother cat selects most of this food. She doesn't eat cow skin, neither does she eat eba, she likes to eat only soup, meat, milk, fish, crayfish and snacks.
Throughout mother cat鈥檚 pregnancy journey, she never bothered anyone with much meowing or food cravings. She only ate when she was very hungry and shyed away when she got chased by other cats.
Many people love cats in my community and own them a lot.
One day, mother cat was in labour and she ran outside and gave birth to one of her kittens, she later rushed inside and hid somewhere where she gave a light meow and gave birth to her other two kittens.
My younger brother went and picked the other kitten outside and placed it where she gave birth to the other two.
She gave her kittens their first suck and really took care of them. Along the line,l the kittens started learning how to walk, and when they started learning how to walk little by little it seemed mother cat began to loose interest in raising her kittens.
How did she loose interest, she ran away when they needed suck and was not always there for them at nights. I began to see the difference between a human and an animal though.
Mother cat always leaves her kittens to go about on their own, while she returned to the blossom of the male cat. She was mostly found lying with the male cat at afternoons while her kittens lived their lives all to themselves.
Her kittens only found opportunity to suck from their mother only when she was asleep at the house corridor.

I feel animals teach their children the act of independence at a very early stage. Most times I feel emotional about the kittens as I try to f0rce the kittens on mother cat, but she keeps moving away. Does this mean she wants to have new babies?
