Hello Hive cat lovers!
My kitten-rescuer cousin and I went to bring some food to the feral cat colony that lives behind the church, and we found that their home looks more... wild.
Yes, due to the rains, the vegetation has grown a lot, and you can't even see the fence that separates the park from the area where the local neighbors placed plastic and cardboard boxes, and even litter boxes that serve as shelter for all these cats.
This vine that has taken over the whole place is absolutely huge. The truth is it's very pretty, with its purple morning glory flowers and heart-shaped leaves. The problem is that apparently it's quite invasive, and in fact, it is classified as dangerous in some areas of Spain because it has altered ecosystems where it didn't originally belong.
The kitties probably like feeling protected among all that thicket, since they usually prefer to be hidden from potential predators. So they must feel the environment is cozier there in their little houses. But it's true that it worried me to see some snails in the areas where their food bowls are.
The real problem with vegetation is when a non-native species invades the area and alters the balance between the species that coexist in that ecosystem. I hope the proliferation of snails and other small animals that we humans can't even see doesn't harm the cats' health. Anyway, it shouldn't be long before the city council sends someone to weed and clean the area.
In any case, we can't deny that the sight of all these green leaves, flowers, trees, and the feeling of clean air is simply beautiful, and it must also be less unbalancing than all the havoc we humans cause.
It took us a little more effort than normal to climb the small hill to reach our friends' shelter, but we made it.
They look good, chubby and cute, and although they don't come out immediately, they always say hello before and after eating, probably to ask us for more 馃き
I will soon be updating you on how these kittens are doing and if their home has been cleaned yet.
Thank you for reading and giving me your support. My idea is to use part of my Hive earnings to help more kitties. I hope we see each other around here again soon

As铆 que deben sentir el ambiente m谩s acogedor, all铆 en sus casitas.
