Benny's New Sitter
A man got out of the passenger side of the tow truck, and motioned him over.
In response, Benny backed away towards the house.
Instantly the man froze. "It's alright, I'm the sitter. Sorry I'm late!"
Benny put a hand on the doorknob. "What's your name?"

I am very fortunate
I loved that place, with its cream-colored painted walls and the room where the singers stood in front of the microphones separated from the rest by glass to isolate it from the sounds outside. The memory of my father playing and singing with me moved me and I felt the impulse to enter and approach the microphone.

Once Upon A Zoom Class
We all understood. And we loved her. I loved her more.
We advised her to go get some rest while we reschedule our class for another day. After all, we had the whole of the week for the Sallah break.
Immediately the class ended, I made a call across. A video call. I wanted to let her know how much I cared. Her weak chuckle and smiles at intervals made me love her more. How strong could a woman be?

That Day At The Market
Two weeks or maybe three later, time moves differently when you don't have a job. I'd stood in the rain getting all drenched. I'd had an interview that morning in Garki, and I'd dressed up nicely. A borrowed shirt, decent shoes, and hair tidily combed. The only thing I hadn't prepared myself for was the rain.

No Filter For Betrayal
“I’m sorry for everything. I was going through stuff. Please can you help me rebuild”
I sat with her words for a while. I thought about that night I drank plain garri and stayed up till 3 am editing her photos with love. I thought about the betrayal, the silence, the stolen clients. I thought about the look on her face when she saw me again.

The Night Market
A small blue and white stone appears floating in the air, swirling stripes on its surface.
“But my parents bought me this bike,” I say.
“Ah, you drive a hard bargain, young friend. You’ll fit in very well in the Night Market. Alright then. I will throw in this ring from Proxima Centauri. When you put it on, it will grant you one wish and one wish only.”

She locked eyes with Esther. “You have something that doesn’t belong to you.”
“What do you mean?”
“The fortune Cookie 27. It should have never been opened, you broke the seal.”
"How was I to know that, besides it was just a cookie." Esther said, suddenly irritated.
