remembering back when

I remember when I was young and my mother cooked a ham for Sunday dinner, you was able to smell that ham cooking all up and down the street, and how McDonald hamburgers used to call your name a block away, you couldn't get there fast enough, and when you fried chicken, the neighbors would appear at your door because their stomachs be turning hoping for a piece, and that rich smell of butter when you make a grilled cheese sandwich, what happen to all those familiar smells, what's happening to the familiar aromas that food used to have , now a days , the smell of some of these fast foods have my stomach turning, the food don't taste the same, fruits don't taste the same, the only way you smell ham or fried chicken cooking now is if you walk into the place where it's being cook, and butter don't even give off that familiar smell, bacon don't even taste the same, a ripe pear used to be so sweet and juicy, man, remembering back when.
