Grateful. Blessed. Loved, but also missing Mom terribly.
30th of July, one special day for her and me. What are the odds, huh? 1 in 365 or 0.27% accordingly. Not a rare probability, but I'm still fascinated by the fact that we share the same birthday.
And as the saying goes, "like mother like daughter," not only we are each other's splitting image, but we also have similar mannerisms, behavior, and even interests. Remembering Mom who used to love going out when she was younger, and became kind of "withdrawn" later on in life, it occurred to me that we truly share the same personality.
Mom didn't like celebrating her day grandly. We both prefer to spend it quietly, and a simple meal with the family is enough. One time, we thought we would go out for a change, so the hubby and I took her and Dad to the pizza house. It was one of those rare occasions where they readily agreed without many buts.
We sat in the balcony where we shared not only cheesy slices of pizza, but also giggles that turned into uninhibited laughters (to the point we were on the verge of tears).
I don't recall if I shared it here before, but it was one of those moments, although seemingly ordinary, had since been permanently imprinted in my memory, which I'll cherish through this lifetime, even when the pizza place has already closed its doors.
Whispering a lil prayer as this day starts to unfold, I know in my heart, Mom also remembers. So, Happy 1st Birthday up there, Mama❤️
Meanwhile, the hubby brought me a lovely present from afar. Thank you. Thank you.
Another addition to my collection, yay! Maybe, I'd be flaunting this for a while, lol!
Kidding aside, and in all honesty, I rarely change bags every time we go out. In fact, I have used the same for months, so the others are just hanging in the corner (although I have given out most before). Aahh... perhaps it's time to do the same thing.🤔
