It's been a while since I have written anything.
There are multiple reasons but most importantly were lack of motivation and laziness. Yes, I have been somewhat lazy for a while but my demotivated state is not making things any better. Even that is not entirely true - I'm not sure which of them is making everything worse but I'm confirmed that both of them are present.
After two surgeries in two consecutive months, I'd prefer to not call myself lazy since I'm still trying to recover. I should focus on my health but I'm now well enough to write but I still didn't - I couldn't.
There's also the pile of excuses that I have told myself. Among those, my recovery isn't one. Although I should have cut myself a little slack for my health issues, somehow I realized I could have tried writing a little bit or maybe 10 minutes a day for the last couple of days. I did none of that.
Nowadays, nothing comes to mind. I have been pushing myself to write something for a week now but then I tell myself the same words many of us tell ourselves - I'll do it tomorrow. But that tomorrow comes after quite a few days. We keep putting it to a halt and we don't see that we're delaying so much that it bites us later on - it bites down hard. As for me, I should dust off my laptop and start wreaking havoc on the keyboard.
I have realized that words and I care for each other equally at all times. If I keep writing regularly, it's easier for me - it looks as if I and words walk towards each other at a similar pace. In the same way, the further I stray from words, they do exactly that. This is why, it's hard for me if I take a break from writing. None of Newton's Law is at work here. Do you see any?
Even though I'm still recovering from my surgeries, I'm good enough to continue writing - if the words decide to be helpful. I know they will as long as I'm determined to keep on writing. Here's the big thumbs down, the words are very uncooperative in the beginning. I am spewing garbage as of now but later on it won't look like this bad hopefully.
Words are your friend and if you keep writing they'll help you. But if you forsake them, they'll walk away from you too. So, it's better to write even at times when you can produce nothing but trash. It helps later on.
