Almost a year ago, I was introduced to Hive by my brother, @bhattg.
At that time, I honestly didn't know what Hive would become for me. I just knew that it was a platform where people could write, share their thoughts, and connect with others.
And here I am, almost a year later, writing another introduction post. 😅
Maybe this time, I have a little more to say.
🌸 A Little About Me
Hello, hii, to everyone! I'm Uma, from India. I'm someone who has a lot of thoughts running through her mind all the time. Sometimes I think about something for five minutes, sometimes for five hours. And sometimes, instead of keeping those thoughts in my head, I simply write them down.
That's probably one of the biggest reasons I enjoy Hive.
Apart from writing, I'm interested in technology, learning new things, and exploring different ideas. I also enjoy those little moments when I can just sit down and write whatever comes to my mind.
I'm still figuring out many things about myself, just like most people do. 😄
🌍 Where Am I From?
I'm from India, and I'm happy to be able to share a small part of my life and thoughts with people from different parts of the world.
One of the interesting things about Hive is that you can be sitting in one corner of the world while reading someone's story from the other side of it.
I really like that.
How Long Have I Been On Hive?
It's been around a year since I joined Hive.
I still remember that my first post was an introduction post. I wrote about myself, my hobbies, and a few things about who I was.
Looking back at that first post now feels a little funny. 😅
You know that feeling when you read something you wrote months ago and think:
"Why did I write this?" 😂
Well... I sometimes have that feeling with my Hive posts too!
But I think that's also part of the journey.
🔍 How Did I Find Hive?
I didn't discover Hive randomly on the internet. My brother, @bhattg, introduced me to it.If he hadn't told me about Hive, I probably wouldn't have joined the platform in the first place.
At first, I was simply curious about it. But slowly, I started understanding that Hive could be more than just another social platform. It could be a place where I could actually write. And eventually, that's what kept bringing me back.
❤️ What Do I like in Hive?
Honestly, I'm not sure if I can give a typical answer to this question. I don't know if I can say, "I love this particular feature" or "this is the exact reason I stay."
For me, it's something much simpler. I can write what's going on in my mind. Sometimes I have a thought that I don't know how to explain to anyone around me. Sometimes something happens during the day and I keep thinking about it. Sometimes I just want to write. So I come here and write it. And one thing I really like is that I don't constantly feel like someone is going to judge me for what I'm writing. There is a strange kind of freedom in that. I can write something, publish it, and move on.
Of course, sometimes I read my own post later and judge myself instead. 😂
"What was I even trying to say here?"
But then I think...
It's okay.
Not every post has to be perfect.
Not every thought has to be perfectly organized.
Sometimes it's simply nice to take the thoughts out of your head and put them somewhere.
And Hive has become that place for me.
🤔 What Don't I Like About Hive?
This is probably the hardest question for me because I don't really have a specific thing that I dislike about Hive.
There are definitely things that could be improved, but since I'm still relatively new compared to many people here, I don't think I know the platform well enough to make a long list of complaints.
For now, I would simply say that sometimes it can feel difficult to understand everything happening around the platform, especially when you're new.
There is so much to discover, so many communities, people, posts, and different aspects of Hive.
But maybe that's also part of the fun.
I'm still learning.
👥 Have I Ever Introduced Someone to Hive?
Yes! 😁 I've introduced Hive to one of my friends. I can't say whether I've successfully created a new lifelong Hive addict yet. 😂 But at least I managed to introduce someone else to this little world that my brother once introduced me to. And that's actually a nice feeling. My brother brought me here. And then I brought a friend. Maybe that's how communities grow — one person telling another person:
"Hey, you should check this place out."
🌙 Almost One Year Later...
When I joined Hive, I didn't really know what I was getting into.
I don't post here regularly, and I'm not someone who always has something to write about. 😅 Most of the time, I simply come to Hive when there is something going on in my mind — a thought, a feeling, an experience, or sometimes just something I can't stop thinking about.
I write it down, publish it, and then go back to my usual life.
I don't have to force myself to write something just because I haven't posted for a while. I can simply write when I genuinely feel like writing.
Maybe that's why Hive has become a small space for me where I can put my thoughts into words whenever my mind gets a little too crowded.
And honestly, I think that's enough.
So, almost a year after my first introduction post...
Hello again, Hive. ❤️
I'm Uma, and this is just another little piece of my story.
