Makhana, Fox Nuts, is delicious, healthy snack. It comes with a lot of health benefits. It is actually considered superior to other dry fruits available in the market. It is available raw in market and can be cooked to different flavors. These days, they also have flavored makhanas, but they are quite expensive to I prefer buying them raw and adding flavors at home which can be easily done.

• 200 gms Makhana
• 3 TBSP Sugar
• 2 Cinnamon sticks (medium sized)
• 1 Spoon Desi Ghee
Step 1: Take the sugar and cinnamon sticks in a mixer grinder and make a fine powder.
Step 2: Take ghee in a pan and heat it. Once done, add the makhanas and the cinnamon sugar and roast it on medium flame. Note that at no point the flame should be turned high because this would overcook the makhanas.
Step 3: In some time, you will notice the sugar melts and the makhanas are covered with the coating like being caramelised.
Step 4: Take the makhanas out in an open vessel and let them cool for a while.
Step 5: Makhanas are now ready to be consumed. These can also be stored for later consumption.
